A Little Different

So earlier tonight, the awesome posemaker Adorkable Peapod offered a challenge to the bloggers. Blog something that is out of your norm! Like if you always blog high editorial fashion, blog yourself in jeans and a tshirt. Or if you do lovely girly looks, go crazy sci-fi or grungy. This sounded like fun to me! But what in the world would I do?? So I ran to the one place I knew would have some fantastic costumes - BARE ROSE!! I could not stop looking at everything because I haven't been there in so long. I just love what I picked out!!

Style - A Little Different

This is the Brass Armor Lady. I am glad I lift weights because this is some heavy armor!! But it's SO COOL. I guess this would be considered steampunk maybe? I'm so bad at knowing all the different things. But I've got goggles and there are grenades on the back of my belt with little propellors. I think they're grenades. I'm actually not sure! EVERYTHING is included in this outfit, even the boots, and it's less than $200L. Oh Bare Rose, how much I love you!

Thank you, Adorkable, for pushing us into something a little different! This was SO MUCH FUN for me! I want more costumes now! I hope all of you choose to take on this challenge!

I ♥ Pink

I'll admit it. I'm in love. Just the very sight of my love makes me go soft and fuzzy hearted. I want to cuddle up with my love and just sit in bliss. I look forward to Valentine's Day because it means I'm surrounded in my love. I'm talking about the color pink, of course. What did you think I meant?

Style - I ♥ Pink!

If you haven't been to the I ♥ Originals fair yet, then you really really need to go! You can pick up this oh-so-sweet Twiggy dress from one of my favorite stores, Ingenue. This color is called - what else? - Valentine! But there are other colors as well, if pink isn't your thing. [Ingenue at the fair]

Also at the fair, I picked up this gorgeous Kennedy necklace in pink by Caroline's Jewelry. It's part of a really inexpensive set that includes earrings, brooch, and ring as well. I love Caroline's so much. [Caroline's at the fair]

If you head on over to G Field, there's a little hunt going on! Six items are free, such as this Heart Bag I'm carrying. There's one in red, too! The Heart Flats are in the hunt, but are $30L, and there are two pairs to find. There are also two items for $50L each in the hunt, and honey, let me tell you. You WANT to find them. But if you're busy, you can buy all 10 hunt items for $200L at the front of the store. Thank you, Cerberus!!

I have to go roll around in more pink goodness now. God, I love Valentine's Day.

Trick or Treat At Hide and Seek!

Oh man, did I ever have the PLAGUE this week. But, it's passing me by and one of the best ways to get over the plague is by playing gacha! I swear! And one of my favorite sims, the Hide and Seek sim, is having a Trick or Treat Gacha event!

Review - Hide & Seek Sim Halloween Gacha

The hoodie and cute ghost t-shirt are both from the BOOM gacha. The hoodie is a "rare" find and the shirt is "uncommon," which means you might not get them right away. The Pink Lady pumpkin pail I'm holding is from Olive Juice, and is also a "rare" find. I love it because it's pink! In my mouth is an adorable flower basket from Awesome Blossom. I don't usually put things in my mouth [that's what she said] but this was too cute not to. And on my shoulder is devilish Lucikat from ANA_Mations. I love kitties, even devil kitties!

If you like gacha, go go go and play out there at Hide and Seek! You have from now until the 31st to play. Don't forget, gacha prizes make great gifts, and it's always fun to share with friends!

Here are the direct TPs to all the participating stores, just in case of lag or you want to just go to your favorite store!

Plurky Bloggers - Gone, But Not Forgotten

Time for the Plurky Bloggers challenge - week 2!!

This week's theme is Gone, But Not Forgotten. That means to post from designers/stores who have either closed or are on an undetermined hiatus. I knew JUST who I wanted to show! Like last week, I don't think I'll be giving SLurls, because some of these designers are just not in SL anymore and there isn't a way that you can purchase their items. [/sob]

Plurky Bloggers - 2 - Gone, But Not Forgotten

Hexed by Kya Eliot was one of those shops that the moment I walked into it, I fell in love with it. Kya had everything from pretty preppy clothes to more gothic attire to costumes to boots. Her textures were top notch and her prices were awesome. This dress, Patches, is the last thing I remember getting from Hexed, and that was well over a year ago. Kya's profile says that she's closed and looking for better high speed internet. Let's hope she finds it and comes back to us one day.

My hair is from the much missed Frangipani. It was always a bit of a mystery to me why Frangipani closed down. For a while there was a huge sale, and man, did I buy buy buy! Hair and clothes...mine mine mine. Then there was a new location, a new build, a few new releases, and then...a quiet goodbye. Heck, it wasn't even goodbye. It was more like "Where did they GO?" Designer Rach Snookums's profile holds no clues. If anyone knows why, I'd love to know!

My skin is the first release from Free Speerit, back in 2008. This is Desidelia in Smokey Green. My boyfriend at the time bought me fatpacks for our one month anniversary, and I wore the HECK out of these skins. I miss you, Desi!!

My necklace and ring are from very much missed ~flirt~. I had the joy of having designer Skinkie Winkler living on my island for a few months and I loved to see her little green dot on the map. I just knew she was creating wonderfulness above my head. Skinkie was probably one of the best prim torturers I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I hope the physical world she left us for is bringing her much happiness and love.

The shoes on my feet are the cute Starley pumps by ever so much missed ETD. I've heard that Elika has been seen out and about in SL recently, and that she has a new sim, so I'm keeping my fingers triple crossed that she's embarking on a new project to put goodies on my head and pretties on my feet.

Of course I'm wearing eyes by Miriel. I mean, how could I not? I'm standing in front of a house by O-Magine, which closed a while ago, but you can still find their old homes on XStreet. I wish they'd do new stuff. The builds have all been wonderful. And my pose is by Striking Poses, which I don't believe updates any more, but is still somewhere hiding in SL.

Wow, sorry this is so long winded!

Vroom vroom!

I'll admit it. I'm a sucker for anything I can ride on in SL. Don't get dirty! Cars, horses, pogo balls, bicycles...if I can ride it, I'm happy! I saw last night that Blackberry Jam was having a 50% off sale, and that it included their Kiddy Wheels cars, so I ran right out today and grabbed it!!

Aww, Piper thinks my driving skills need work.

Review - Blackberry Jam - Kiddy Wheels, female

The Kiddy Wheels is a car that you wear, so if it's just you in the car, then you can vroom vroom anywhere you'd like to go! I always like that because sometimes I want to drive around in a place where I can't rez something.

Now you CAN, however, buy a separate "saddle" for your car if you want 3 of your friends to ride with you. The saddle you DO have to rez to the ground. Then you sit on the invisible box [ctrl-alt-t to turn on your "Reds" so you can see it!] and your passengers can sit on the poseballs. Then...vroom vroom!

But don't worry, this isn't just for girls. In the pack there is a boy car too!

Review - Blackberry Jam - Kiddy Wheels, male

Along with both the male & female cars in the pack, there are different sizes for adult and child sized avatars. Currently during the sale, they're available for $199L, and you can purchase the saddle for $50L.

Vroom vroom yourself over to Blackberry Jam and get rollin'!

Pose Fair Is Coming! Spring Bazaar Is Here!

Hey, do you know what's coming up? POSE FAIR!!!! The only way I'd be more excited about a fair is if it was called "Hey Ali, Everything You Ever Needed In SL Is Right Here And Free" Fair.

Today I'm using poses from Amacci, which will be in the Pose Fair this year. I was sent a great folder of poses, plus their "Posh AO." I really like the AO, and I think whenever I'm called to do a runway show again, this will probably be the AO I end up using for it.

If you didn't know, the Spring Bazaar is going on right now! Lots of cute designers out there, and everything is $50L or less. I picked up lots of great things, including a ton of stuff in the dollarbie/freebie Easter eggs that are hiding around. I picked up this great t-shirt from Intrigue Co. for $25L, and these shorts from Frop, which were part of a 2 shirts/2 shorts set for $30L. I also picked up my facial piercings from Adore & Abhor for $15L. Heck of a deal!

[I will say, though, for those of you who don't care for the recolors of the premade template stuff you can buy on XStreet, a lot of these items have been made using templates, and so a lot look the same. But if that doesn't bug you, especially since it's all so inexpensive, then you should be totally good!]

Review - Pose Fair, Spring Bazaar

Review - Pose Fair, Spring Bazaar, closeup

The Spring Bazaar is going on now until April 11th, and the Pose Fair starts this Friday, April 2nd, at 4pm SLT. Happy shopping!

Here fishie, fishie, fishie...

I love the Pocket Gardens by Stormy Aluveaux and Carter Denja. Anytime I need an instant garden [because I'm horrible at landscaping!], I pull mine out and boom! Insta-pretty! I was super happy to see the new Castalia Basin with Koi, because who doesn't need some cute fish in their life??

Review - Pocket Gardens - Castalia Basin with Koi, small

Review - Pocket Gardens - Castalia Basin with Koi, large

Review - Pocket Gardens - Castalia Basin with Koi, both

The basins go really well with the Castalia prefab gardens. Both basins come with color change scripts for the basin itself, and for the roses attached. The fish are so cute and swim in circles. There are even sits on each basin [as shown in the top picture] and one of the best parts? Low prim! The small basin is 7 prims and the large is 10 prims. These are GREAT if you're in one of the new Linden homes!

These are very affordable, too! The small basin is $125L and the large is $175L. Or get a little discount and get both for $250L! They are copyable, so you can put fish out everywhere!

Go pick up your new koi at Pocket Gardens today!

T Junction!

So my adorable shopaholic friend Wilma told me yesterday that I needed to go to T Junction because they had cute shirts and panties. I love a good shirt [and good panties!] so I made my way over there today.

Big mistake.

Everything was so cute, I went NUTS! I wanted every single shirt they had to offer! I mean, look!!

These are just 3 that I bought. Believe me, my inventory is holding a lot more. And they're pretty inexpensive at just $75L a shirt. There is a discount area where I found $40L shirts, and there are a bunch of freebies at the front when you walk in, along with a gift shirt if you join the subscribe-o-matic. There are shirts for men, too! And the shirts are transferable, so perfect for gifting your friends!

I will mention that if you are one who is against creators who use templates for their work, the shirts at T Junction are not for you. I know these are made using a specific template because I have other t-shirts that are the same, but I love these, so I kinda don't mind today. :)

Today's Gaze - I Don't Like Your Girlfriend!

I was wandering around Crush Row last night [truly one of my favorite shopping areas in SL. It's gorgeous.] and stumbled into Von Ducky. This t-shirt caught my eye and made me laugh, and so... Today's Gaze was born.

Now is this shirt the highest quality? Nah. You can see the hems aren't exactly awesome. But it's so cute, I don't mind.

Underneath I put on a green shrug & gloves that I picked up from Torridwear I don't even know HOW long ago. They've been in my inventory pretty much since I rezzed, I think. Because the shrugs are on the shirt layer, it makes them PERFECT for putting underneath t-shirts for a layered look. I tinted the green darker that it originally is. I wasn't sure if you could still get them, but go backstage at Torrid's store. They're still there, and you get 6 colors for just $20L. It's a hell of a deal.

My Garage jeans from League and my PornStar Hi-Tops from Urban Bomb Unit are staples in my inventory. In fact, if clothing in SL wore out ever, these would be falling apart because I wear them so often. League really is my favorite place for jeans, even if they are a little pricier than most places.

Ryker Beck of Exodi has been teasing us on Plurk [along with bad girl Jori Watler!] with glimpses of her new Sienna skin. Yesterday she generously gave her VIP group a preview of Sienna. Look at my face, it is gorgeous!! The whole skin is marvelous, and this is a first for me because I never have managed to look good in any of the Exodi skins before. It always made me sad to see Sophia in them because she looked soooo good and I never did. But Sienna...wow. I love it! I can't wait for them to be released. The Exodi group is a pay group [$250L], but Ryker spoils us, so it's worth it. I'm wearing her Zbilja Spirit eyes in Crystal Blue, which were also a group gift.

And to tie it all up, I'm wearing [still] the gorgeous Green II hair in Beach Blond from Maitreya and the Delicious Lollipop rings & bangles from SyDS, one of my favorite fun ring shops. My poses are from Pffiou! which is currently not open while my favorite French girl takes a bit of an SL break.

Oh, and for some reason, the shirt reminded me of this song, which is now embedded in my head. :-p

Everyone deserves the chance to FLY!

If you're looking for a cute, not over the top, Halloween background, look no further than La Petite Morte!

For just one tiny $Linden, you can get this cute little background to use for your own pictures. Best part? Only 3 prims! So you can get your witch on even if you're low on prims. :) Be sure to check out all the other photosets while you're going to spend your $1L on this!

Beloved Roses Make Me A Doll

If you've never been out to Aisuru Rieko's store, Beloved Custom Designs, you are missing out! She is one of the cutest little creators on the grid, and her work reflects her adorable, whimsical style. From fantasy skyboxes to unicorn sets, she makes just the most precious things.

When she mentioned that she was making a doll key, my immediate thought was "Oh no, she's going to make me into a doll," because I knew I'd never be able to resist picking it up.

Then she decided to make the cutest rose couture skirt! She'll be giving away the skirt for free for the Shopping Cart Disco Reader Appreciation Day, so don't miss out on picking it up.

Check it out!

The Hime Gyaru Key is a must have for any doll on the grid! With a beautiful sculpted rose, you have several options for this key to change the colors to match your outfits. You can change the colors of the metal, the rose, and the pearl. It slowly spins around as well. I want to wear it everywhere I go!

The rose skirt is also made up of the gorgeous sculpted roses, and is also color change. I'm wearing it in pink, but I believe there are over a dozen color options to choose from. Hey Aisu, how about some hair flowers from these pretty roses??

The skirt, as I said, will be free on SCD Reader Appreciation Day, and the Hime Gyaru Key is a steal at $250L.

While you're at BCD, be sure to check out all of Aisuru's landscaping items, such as the wonderful trees and her pretty glowy grass. You'll just LOVE her work!

Foxy Roxy Rollers!!

Back in the early 80s, my older sister had a pair of roller skates that I coveted. They were white boot style, and I had never seen a pair so beautiful in my whole life - which, granted, was only about 5 years long at that point, but I so so wanted those skates.

Unfortunately, not being gifted with balance and having a pretty overprotective mom, I never was allowed to get skates like hers [or learn how to skate at all], and as I got older, the trend went to rollerblades, which were never as pretty in my eyes.

So when I saw the notice for the new Roxy Rollers at Pixel Mode, my eyes lit up and I felt 5 years old again. Only THIS time, I could get the beautiful skates!

The Roxy Rollers have the option of letting you have the skating animation or not, and you can change the colors of the wheels, laces, and the stoppers. I'm showing them in white, but a pair of black are also included in the pack. For only $450L, it is beyond a steal.

Thank you, Tya, for giving this ungraceful blogger the chance to finally own the beautiful skates she coveted over 25 years ago. Go on down to Pixel Mode and pick up your own today!

Today's Gaze: Strawberry Girl

My outfit for today just kind of fell together, mostly in part because of my friend Emerald showed some hair on her blog that I simply HAD to HAVE. Even though it wasn't blonde, I had to have it. And why?

Because of strawberries!!

Strawberries really are my favorite fruit, in taste and smell and look. [Well, I actually like the way cherries look more, but don't tell the strawberries that.] Emerald found the store Malizz Yiyuan Creation, which is a completely new store to me. But as I've mentioned, I loveeee new-to-me stores. Not only did I find the absolutely adorable Strawberry Hair, but I found more strawberry stuff! Emerald, I blame you for my spending today. ;)

The Strawberry Hair is really so cute with that headband [which I had to mod slightly, since I have a huge cranium], and although it only comes in brown, it's color scripted so you can tint it somewhat to make different colors.

I also picked up the cute little StrawBerrYum for my mouth, because once in awhile, you just need something sticking out of your mouth.

And I couldn't leave without those adorable Strawberry Big Star sneakers with the matching socks! The sneakers have a resize script, and as a little bonus, there's a cute little animation in the menu, too! It's not really necessary to the shoe, but I love hidden little things. :) One thing that you may not like is that when you walk, you leave a trail of strawberries. I didn't see a way to turn this off, but you might be able to figure it out.

I put it all together with one of the worn denim miniskirts from Tuli, and a Plain V from K&CO in spring green. And of course I was still wearing my awesome shades from JE*Republic that I showed off in my last post.

Today's Gaze leaves me feeling happy, summery, and strawberry scented. Check out Malizz Yiyuan Creation if you get a chance. There's Midnight Mania, a prize camping chair, and a lucky board. I won't say the items are of the highest quality, but they're fun AND inexpensive. And for me, it was well worth the trip!

A little Tantric action for ya.

I get a little giddy when I get to review something from Belle Belle because I always know I'm going to love it. I had seen the photo for the new Lucky Board gift before I was asked to review it, and I had already planned on stalking the board.

The Tantric Lovin' gift is so so cute! A pretty little "snowglobe," it's the perfect place to relax with somebody special and just get away from it all. So I grabbed my somebody special and forced him into posing with me. [Actually, I think he was making dinner as I moved us all around, but that's ok.]

Coming in at 62 prims, it's filled with pillows and candles and I just love the pretty beadwork around the base. The inside of the globe has very light sparkly particles, so I set us up in a "space" type box along with some super cute stars I stumbled across in my inventory and now can't stop playing with.

But of course the best thing about the globe is that it's menu driven, with 4 poses for you and your special someone. When you first click on it, choose the option to Rez Hearts. That will put the poseball hearts outside of the globe so you can easily sit before moving inside.

I did get a comment out of that last pose. "Flexible!" Hehe, yes.

While you're out stalking the Lucky Board at Belle Belle to get this fabulous gift, be sure you also hit up the Midnight Mania board. I think that the Luna set is almost complete, and I know I can't wait to see what's coming up next because Leyla is ALWAYS super super generous in her gifting. And if I'm not mistaken, you can still look for the hunt gift from the Discovery Hunt, that amazing BBQ patio set I blogged before.

Have fun stalking the board! Believe me, it's worth it!

I'll probably get this wrong, but I think Noel is wearing a Cambridge shirt by Armidi, the winter coat by Alphamale, jeans by WMD, shoes by Soreal, skin by Redgrave, and hair by Naughty Designs. But who's really looking at the guy anyway, right? ;)
