Bit of a last minute Throwback Thursday-ish post for me! Did you know that it's Coldlogic's 3rd birthday?? And everything in the store is 50% off!

What Next will be there with the Balloons Pose Prop! There are 3 different types of the balloons - red, ivory with one pink, and the sweetheart multicolored ones like I'm holding in this photo. Each one has 4 single poses and 3 couples poses. Super cute! Love Is In The Air runs from the 7th until the 14th.

Make A New Plan, Stan!

My parents were already married and had 2 kids by 1966, so they never got to be free lovin' hippies. Plus it really wasn't in their nature, being the more clean cut, responsible type. But they certainly enjoyed them when they encountered them and by the time I came around, they raised me on some great music and to be their little free spirit. So this small area I've put together using some items from an upcoming event makes me happy! [And made me put on some Simon & Garfunkel music!]




Perfect 10 is a new home and garden event coming up on February 1st! It features home and garden designers alongside full perm creators and replaces The Designer Warehouse event, if you were familiar with that one. The items will be half price or less, and exclusive to the event. There will also be some gacha to play, for those of you who are gacha addicts! I don't think there is a theme for this upcoming first round, but a few of the designers who were kind enough to give advance copies of items seemed to be in the bohemian spirit.

Perfect 10 starts on February 1st and runs until February 15th. It should be fun!

Time Is On Our Side

I have so much I should be doing today, but instead I'm enjoying the day and watching a New Kids On The Block concert. And even better than that, I'm doing it all while wearing fabulous new boots!




The Liaison Collaborative opens on the 15th and I am in LOVELOVELOVE with the new Calvary boots that Aphorism made for the event! They are available in 5 different colors [I'm wearing them in chestnut] and I love the zipper detail! As you can see in the picture, one side of the boot has the zipper go all the way down and the other side has it disconnected. I swear, if these came in white, I would be the happiest ever!

Today I Choose Joy

The best part about weekends is that all you need is a comfy shirt and a great pair of jeans to take you from place to place! [And a good cup of coffee, of course!]




I am incredibly picky about jeans in SL. It's not uncommon to see me in the same dang jeans for ages. Luckily, I have awesome friends who introduce me to new places and people, and that's how I ended up trying out the Runway jeans from CARGO. I love these jeans! They fit just right and have the cutest booty! C'mon, ladies. You know that's what we look for in a pair of jeans! These come with a HUD that give you some variations in color, and you can change the cuff a couple of ways. The only thing that would make these more perfect for me is if the cuff had a long bootcut.

For a birthday gift, my awesome husband bought me the Slink Physique body! The alpha HUD recently got an upgrade, so if you already have the body, be sure to go get the update. I have mostly just used the hands and feet for a while now and didn't think I really needed the body. But I like to stay current when I can, so now I get to be like my girls and wear a mesh body. The one thing I like is that it's still ME, but just more smoothed out. I don't have any desire to be bigger, or have a bigger chest or butt, which is why I've stayed away from much more than the hands and feet so far. As you can see, my regular clothes fit pretty well over the body, and I was able to alpha out what I needed. The alpha parts are MUCH improved with the update, but there are still some parts I'd like to see added, like side boob and shoulder blades.

The New Scarlett

Have you ever watched Gone With The Wind? In the opening scene, Scarlett O'Hara is wearing this gorgeous white dress with a red sash. It's the floofy, ruffled, hoop-skirted gown of my dreams, basically. But well, if Scarlett was around today, she'd probably want something a little slimmer.




The L.S. sheath dress from Lumiere for FaMESHed is slim and simple and beautiful! It comes with a HUD to change the colors of the dress and belt, so you don't have to look like a modern day Scarlett O'Hara if you don't want to. Lumiere was formerly Pink & Wild and they don't appear to have an in world store, so you can find them on the marketplace.

Today is Fifty Linden Friday and !Bang has a pack of sit poses out! I don't know about you guys, but I'm forever trying to find decent sit poses, so this pack works great for me! !Bang just moved to its own sim recently, so check that out while you're shopping.

From There To Back Again

Just a quick little post today because I feel cute! One of my favorite things lately is to see how I can make outfits just a wee bit more "family friendly." Not that there's anything wrong with showing cleavage and all of that, but there are days when you really just don't want to give away the farm.




Fishy Strawberry made some cute items for this month's FaMESHed! The Carthage dresses are sweet, short, and colorful! They are also a little bit more low cut in the front than I'm comfortable with, so I dug around in my inventory for an old tank top to slip on under it. But to make the outfit show a little less skin, Fishy Strawberry also made matching July Shrugs, too!

Bought A Ticket To The West Coast

Guess what? The Arcade is starting this weekend! Squee! Every round, I tell myself "Okay. You CANNOT want everything." But then every round, I tell myself to shut up because there's always cute stuff.




What Next has us On The Move at The Arcade with some great wearable, rideable toys! I'm riding the Candy Skateboard. There are cool things like scooters, pogo sticks, and cars, too! Each play is $50L and there are 9 commons and 5 rares.

Sakura is an awesome hair that you can get in two different styles, the two curly poofs like I'm wearing, or one that just has the curly on one side. Are you happy today? You should be! There are so so so many reasons to be happy in our lives, even if it's just teeny tiny things that maybe we wouldn't think about. Like today, I'm happy because I adore light creamy colors and I was able to put together an outfit using them. Most people would say that they're boring colors, but I love them!




Ingenue will be at The Chapter Four with the Emma blouse. It's a cropped top [as is the style these days!] that shows off some skin, but is still pretty modest! It's got a great little polka dotted bib collar, and there are buttons down the back. I wanted to keep my look simple, so I paired it with one of the new Howell skirts from Coldlogic's last release, and the Lily flats, also from Ingenue. [They are add-ons for the Slink flat feet.]

Floating Along

Okay, so, here's the thing. In my RL, I'm ridiculously scared of balloons. Not so much the balloons themselves, as I think they are pretty, but the very fact that they can pop just freaks me out! I have a phobia of sudden, loud noises. I know, I know. It's weird. So the chances of my carrying a big bunch of balloons like this in RL? Slim to none, and if I did have to, I'd be holding them like a bomb. But in SL, I get to enjoy the pretty balloons, so that is awesome!




You know what else is awesome? FaMESHed! Zaara is out at FaMESHed this month with the Kalika tank top and the Elina shorts. I am in LOVE! Especially with the shorts, because I've been looking for new shorts that aren't denim and/or don't show off too much booty crack.

Do you ever go out to the Woodland Treasures gacha event? You totally should, especially if you're a kid av or you like super cute decor items. Pita Pocket is out there with their Little Carny Party set. There are several adorable items in the set, all carnival themed, but I'm just using the Balloon Cart for this picture. I know people are getting gacha burn-out, but this is so precious, you need at least a few items!

Getting My Weekend On!

Okay, tell me you haven't been in this scenario. It's the weekend, you've been invited out, and you have NOTHING to wear. So you run to a store and just start trying on EVERYTHING to try to find a new party outfit. It's crazy! Luckily in SL, you have a whole inventory full of beautiful things. Although, if you're like me, you still feel the need to run out and start buying new outfits just for one party.




Have you been to Pose Fair yet? You should go! Savoir Faire made this cool Dressing Room pose prop for the event. You just sit on it and it has several cute poses. I adore pose props, so you know I'm totally into this one.

Don't forget to do the Fifty Linden Friday round today! Fri.day has a special color of the Venus heels. You honestly can't beat some $50L heels! They are add-ons for the SLink medium feet.

Lighten Up The Atmosphere

Who loves new stuff? This girl! There's just something about opening up a new box of goodies that makes me happy. Let's check some stuff out!




L.Warwick released her new Miranda wedges last night and they are awesome! If you don't use shadows, the texture reminds me of satin, but once you get your shadows on, they become glossy! The little white marks on the shoe in my photo are not painted onto the shoe, it's actually sunshine! These are for the high SLink feet.

FaMESHed and Collabor88 are fantastic this month!




For FaMESHed, Cae has a jewelry set called Poise and I adore it. Dragonflies have always had a special meaning to me, so I can see myself wearing this set very very often. The gems and the metal both are color change via a nifty HUD.

Truth is out at Collabor88 this month with the April hair. Isn't it pretty?? The cute little bird barrette is detachable, and also color change through the hair color HUD.

Steppin' Out

Spring has finally finally arrived!! I couldn't be more excited because ugh, I hate winter so much. Well, okay, I think snow is pretty and all, but I love spring!




Coldlogic welcomed spring with a big release this past week! I love a great halter, and the Pruitt one is super cute. But I definitely love the Jay pants! They are so cute and casual, and very perfect for spring!

A few weeks ago, my plurk friend Amaya of The Big O asked for some shoe inspiration. Well, you know me and shoes! I tossed a few pics at her of shoes I liked, and was pleasantly surprised when she actually made one of them! The LB heels are fun and ladylike, but also great for pairing with dresses or jeans or whatever you'd like. They are add-ons for the SLink medium feet, so don't cry if you go to get them and you can't wear them because you still have janky system feet.

Bathroom Break!

There are a couple of things [among many, really] that I love in SL. One is having a house that is realistic enough, and two is... The Arcade!! When Elle Kirshner of Second Spaces started showing sneak peeks of her Arcade set Bathroom Clutter, it spoke to every thing in my "Of COURSE I need a bathroom in SL!" heart of hearts.






There are 11 items in the collection, and you will want every single one! Two are rare, and all of the items except for the Crates of Things are only one tiny little land impact! Elle is the queen of clutter as she's proven time and time again. But really, it's the cute little details that just MAKE a home, don't you think?

Iced Up

Oh my goodness, what a start to the month! Both The Arcade and FaMESHed opened with a huge bang today, and if you're anything like me, you are in shopping heaven!!





What Next is at The Arcade with these awesome Igloos! I'm standing in front of the Penguin igloo and isn't it cute? There are some poses in it to sit on top of the igloo or lay down inside. Cute! But the poses didn't show off my new First Snow hair and dress from Exile, also at The Arcade. The hair, hood, and dress are all one piece, and there is a HUD to change the color of the dress and one to do different shades of the hair. Mine is the Ice Blondes HUD and there are 10 lovely light blonde shades in this HUD.

Mutresse is at FaMESHed with their new Sneja boots. Like everything else from Mutresse, these are really well done and of course very very customizable with the color HUD. I went all one color but you can change lots of things to make your boots match your outfits.

Also at FaMESHed are the Fingerless Gloves from Kauna. They can be changed to either leather or wool, and there are sizes for both men and women. The hands, however, were a B to tint properly!! I am very used to having appliers now for my hands, so I'm definitely out of practice for tinting, but I could not get them to tint to match my skin at all, so I just kinda did what I could and let my windlight do the rest.

Bubblegum Alley is a new event for kids and families and it's very cute! I picked up some great home decor there from Pixel Fusion and new-to-me store Noble. I'm always thrilled to find new-to-me stores, and this event was full of them! This round of Bubblegum Alley runs until the 26th, so hop on over and check it out!

Fri.day released some fantastic boots for Shoetopia. The River.Boots are lace-ups with a great wedge. They come in several colors, and if you buy the Dotty color at the event, 100% of the money goes to Soles4Souls.

Just Take Your Time

I do a lot of inventory cleaning on an almost daily basis. Not a lot, obviously, since my inventory is still pretty massive. But I throw away things pretty much daily as I come across them. A lot of the time, this does mean I'm throwing out something that was made before August 2011 when mesh came out. However, sometimes I find just the right old [vintage?] item deep in my inventory and I feel like it pulls my look totally together.




I really like the new Band Jackets from Cracked Mirror for FaMESHed this month. Being a former band nerd myself, of course the first thing I think of when I think of band jackets is the letter jacket that I wore almost daily, but these are more like uniform jackets. Quite structured, very classic. These come with a short "shirt" inside, and I kind of wish they had a no shirt option to pair up with a longer belly covering shirt, but I do like this a lot.

The vintage item I found that I felt really went with my whole look was the Ginger boots from Shiny Things. They are from 2010 [very old in SL years!] and just sculpts, but I don't think they look dated at ALL. *sighs* I miss Shiny Things. The store is still up if you want to shop there, though.

By the way, have you been to The Garden yet? If you haven't, you need to go. I'm standing in the Bozeman Barn by Barnesworth Anubis and is it ever awesome! Big rooms and sliding doors and this fantastic two sided fireplace. It would be great for a winter sim!
