Happy Trails

This is kind of a sad post for me today! This is my last post as an official Collabor88 blogger.

Style - Happy Trails

I have been with Collabor88 as a blogger since the very very beginning when there were just 8 of us. It has been an AMAZING journey and I am so thrilled to have been part of it. But as a blogger, sometimes you have to ask yourself if you're really doing justice to the wonderful creators who take part in the event every month. My answer was, unfortunately, no. As much as I absolutely adore the event, I feel like it's time for me to go so someone new can take my place and have as much fun with it as I did!

I wanted to say a huge huge thank you to Drinkenstein Sorbet for starting such a fantastic event, and wish her well as she ends her SL business to go on some RL adventures. And also, a HUGE thank you to all the awesome Collabor88 creators who have allowed me to blog them every month for the past two years. You guys make SL beautiful. ♥

Of course, I'll still be blogging Collabor88 on my own because, duh, I'll always want to shop there! :)

Here Kitty Kitty!

So if you haven't heard, Gospel Voom's sweet kitty, Archibald, was hit by a car recently. Bless his strong little heart, he managed to get himself home and has been fighting like a champion to recover after several days in the hospital. Naturally, the cost of the surgeries and other veterinary care is pretty super high. I think most of us know the cost of having our beloved pets taken care of, and the cost of emergency care is even higher.

Truth District and several talented friends from across the grid have come together to help raise funds for Archibald's expenses. There are some cute items, some of them exclusive to the event, in the fundraiser. On top of that, Gos has his store at Truth District set to 50% off! So help a sweet kitty and an awesome kitty daddy and do some shopping for a good cause. :)

Style - Here Kitty Kitty!

The fundraiser for Archie lasts until September 2nd at Truth District.

The new Zodiac cycle starts tomorrow! [August 23rd] As a Leo-Virgo cusp sign myself, I'm happy to explore my Virgo side this coming month!

I'm A Unicorn

I really hadn't planned on blogging this outfit. It was just a fun thing I threw together before heading out to a party last night. But I showed a pic of the skirt on plurk, and Gogo said I reminded her of a unicorn. How could I not blog my unicorn outfit after that??

Style - I'm A Unicorn

Auxiliary has these cute Alluring Mini Skirts out at Collabor88 and I have never been one to pass up a cute mini skirt! It is mesh, and you will probably need to wear underpants with it unless you are either A) good at modding alpha layers, or B) don't mind flashing cooter. Auxiliary isn't officially open yet, but from the sneak previews they've given us so far, I cannot WAIT until they do!

Also at Collabor88, Ploom has this lovely Tart hair. I used to have my hair like this ages ago where it's a little longer in the front. I'm wearing the dipped color and there is a HUD to change your colors! If it came in a rainbow dipped color, I'd be in heaven!

My Butterfly necklace by Maxi Gossamer and Pinwheel pose by aDORKable Poses are also out at Collabor88 this month. What did I tell you guys about this being a fantastic month there??

I have to go prance around like a unicorn now! Bye!

Pretty Little Liar

Do you want to know a secret? I'm in a fashion funk. :( I know, it's awful! I am not exactly sure what to do to pull myself out of it, so suggestions would be totally helpful! Today I took half a page from my favorite Pretty Little Liar Aria Montgomery and put together something I thought she would probably wear. Aria's style is usually dark, with a good mix of edgy and feminine touches. And she wears a lot of socks. I don't want to be the one to tell her that socks aren't pants, though, because she's little and it's cute.

Style - Pretty Little Liar

I certainly hope "A" doesn't send me a text for trying to be like Aria.

I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

I'm supposed to be packing, but I'm procrastinating. No, I'm not going anywhere fun. My dad's having another surgery and I'll be staying over with my parents for a few days while he recovers just to help out. But I guess I can pretend it's a vacation? I'm a little blue about it, so putting together a blue outfit just seemed totally right.

Style - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues

For Fifty Linden Friday this week, Ingenue has these great new Collette skirts. They are mesh skirts, but you don't have to worry about the fit because the skirt part is like a normal prim crotch flap, but being that it's mesh, it moves with your body and blends in with the rest of the skirt. Love love love! There are 2 colors for FLF this week, and I'm so very happy she put it out early so I could get it!!

Collabor88 for November starts on the 8th and The Sea Hole is putting out some really cute items, like this pretty little Corsage ring, bracelet, and nail polish set. I can't wait for the whole collection!

The dryer just went off so I guess it's back to packing. I'll see you guys next week!

Give the lady what she wants!

I'm still having way too much fun playing with Depth of Field on the LL viewer! But that is okay, because really, the background isn't as important as my outfit, right? Right!

Style - Give the lady what she wants.

There were some goodies released this weekend! From G Field, these utterly lovely Lucy lace tops are necessities for anyone's wardrobe. You can wear them short or longer, and with or without the torso prim. So very ladylike! And the best part is that these truly will take you from summer to winter, depending on how you style them. Love!

But although we DO strive to be ladies sometimes, we don't want to be prudes, and that's where the fun, flirty, and really short Mani skirt from perennial favorite Nyte n Day comes in. I simply LOVE this skirt. It is sculpted, but so very very easy to fit with either the resizer script or by hand. I used the resizer and it worked great! Several colors are available, and trust me, I'll be going back to pick more up!

Go shop!

Preparations

Happy New Year, everyone!! I hope yours was as fantastic as mine was! Now, I don't know about you, but I always make a lot of preparations for the new year. Usually in the form of trying to move some furniture around. I was attempting to do this in SL, but I got distracted by my cute outfit and my new socks.

Style - Preparations

This schoolgirl-esque outfit is called Black Night and is from Acid & Mala. Being that I'm a sucker for a short pleated skirt and a nice sweater, I simply had to have it. There is actually a bottom part to the sweater that has the white shirt poking out, but I felt it made me look fat, and honey, I can't have that in both worlds.

And my cute little socks!! I know, everyone probably has them already, but my sweetie gifted me with the Scrunched Prim Socks from Maitreya last night, and all morning I've been tippy-toeing around in them. I may never take them off. If I don't wear shoes again, please blame Aldwyn.

Here's to a bright new year!

30 Days - Day 15

So I was out dancing with my wife and my boyfriend the other night and as most clubs have stores and whatnot around them, she found me the cutest teeny tiny little pink skirt. But when I put it on, I wondered how I could wear it and be kind of cute and not slutty.

Style - 30 Days - Day 15

I think it came out adorable. But you can't have that sweater. Sorry about that.

Also, I'm wearing elf ears because Sophia Harlow thinks I'm super cute in them. :)

Back To School With FIR!

I know it's just the beginning of August, but this is around the time when stores start pushing all their Back To School wear. Around my area, the kids start heading back usually in mid-August, so I guess that's why! :)

The new Checker Shirts and Tux Pants by FIR made me think of that perfect "Back To School" outfit that you'd wear on your first day back. You know the one. It has to look casual, like you're not trying too hard, but it has to be new! You can't go back in any ratty old clothes. Save those for the second day!

Review - *FIR* - Back To School

I think I make a cute boy, don't you?

The Checker Shirt comes on all layers, for that tucked or untucked look, and the prim cuffs and collar are modifiable so you can get the best fit. The shirts actually look pretty sweet on girls, too!

The Tux Pants are just nice, basic pants with a slimmer slouchy cuff. Very cute!

I love to see a guy in clean cut basics, and these fit the bill! Guys, get yourselves over to FIR and get shopping!!

Cause I'm a Gypsy...

I'm always happy with outfits that can be used for different "characters" or just as something pretty to wear. My friend Chandni Khondji of Hopscotch put together this adorable little outfit named Arwyn, and it's just perfect for playing a fae, wandering around in your garden, or being a pretty gypsy. Growing up, I was always a bit fascinated with Esmerelda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, so of course I felt it was a little more gypsy in nature.

Review - Hopscotch - Arwyn

I think the skirt is absolutely darling, and I love the arm cuffs. It shows just enough skin, but not so much that you're giving away the entire farm. Arwyn comes in 12 different colors [I'm wearing it in Lavender], which you can buy separately or in a fatpack. I have a feeling I'm going to be getting quite a bit of use out of the skirts, most definitely!

No more reading, hop on over to Hopscotch and shop!

Today's Gaze - Spring Fling

I'll be the first to admit, I have a hard time mixing and matching pieces in my inventory to create something great. But once in a while, I'll play around and come up with something that, while pretty simple, makes me happy. Today's outfit makes me think of springtime, and as everyone knows, I'm a total springtime sunshine girl!

Review - Today's Gaze - Spring Fling

Yesterday I went to riotvend at Sn@tch and I didn't even SEE what I was getting when I bought it [I was having rezzing issues!], I just took the word of a friend that it was cute. And right she was, because I ended up with this CUTE skirt! The Knick Knack set has 6 colors of these just adorable skirts, plus a really cute white top, which I am not wearing here. These skirts make me so so happy! I know people usually think of Sn@tch for just more dark, punk/goth/urban type clothing, but when Ivey does cute, she does it very well!

The rest of the outfit just fell into place after putting on the very pretty skirt. My top comes from the Reale Bolero set. I always knew I'd find a place for this tank, and I do so love a great, plain white tank or shirt. My shoes are probably my favorite wedge sandals in SL, the Sunny sandals from G Field. I love bangles, so these Terra Verde bangles [and necklace, which you can't see that well in the picture] from Cad & Tart just yelled "Put me on!" at me. And I just love love the new Sydney hair from Truth, with the color changing headband. The whole look was just very fresh to me, so I put on the Alyson skin in makeup #2 by Belleza. I'm really more of a Belle girl, as proven by how often I just don't change skins, but Alyson's sweet face was necessary! And my pose is from Glitterati, which is probably in my top 3 of favorite pose stores.

I hope Sophia doesn't mind I terraformed her backyard a bit for this photo. Shh...we won't tell her. ♥

I'm a delicate flower

Oh, did I just do a post wearing Ingenue? Yes. Am I going to do another? You bet!

The latest to come from the pretty pretty mind of Betty Doyle are the wonderful Tulipe tops, Pivoine skirts, and Liasis heels. Let's take a look!

Review - Ingenue - Tulipe, Rouge

Review - Ingenue - Tulipe, Noir

Review- Ingenue - Tulipe, L'eau

I just go mad for fun, girly girl clothing and oh, what is more girly girl than these flirty Pivoine skirts? The texturing on the Tulipe tops is just fantastic. The tops are very short [the skirts have a high waist] but I can easily see people wearing these under other shirts or jackets, or even in the summer to show off more skin. And the Liasis shoes? Perfect! Simple and elegant, you will be able to wear these with so so many of your outfits.

The Tulipe tops come in 10 colors and are $85L each or $500L for a fatpack. The Pivoine skirts also come in 10 colors for $175L each or $1200L for the fatpack. And the Liasis shoes come in 15 colors for $275L each or $2775L for a fatpack.

Why are you still here? Get your pretty tushes to Ingenue!

Business With Bublee

It's really kind of funny how whenever any new brand comes out, if it's good, the immediate question is, "Ok, who is that really?" Sometimes new artists come into Second Life and start designing for us without having had a brand in here before! When I was talking to new designer Bublee Bing, my only question for her was, "Where have you been hiding??"

Although fairly new to the SL fashion scene, she's already created some great pieces that should definitely be in your wardrobe! I love to mix and match! While I was playing with her clothes, I got a very business type feel, so I bounced into my home office and started snapping!

The Ornament Tank Top & Skirt package was really something. It came with a very long black skirt that was a little bit overwhelming on my shape, despite being somewhat slender, but I absolutely LOVED the top! Check it out!

As you can see, the top is utterly lovely. The wrinkles are perfectly placed and the straps line up very well on the shoulders. There is another option in the package to have this top with sheer short sleeves and prim cuffs.

The Ornament set comes with 2 tops, the black skirt and 2 neck scarves [not shown] for $375L.

By the way, do you see my chair? That was created by my good friend Merrick Thor, inspired by a photo I showed him of a chair I wanted. You can buy your own super awesome, prim budget friendly [5 prims!] ThorCore Aero Office Chair on Xstreet for just $150L $75L. :) [Merrick rocks!]

Back to Bublee, this Tartan Skirt in blue & green is just stunning! The texture is so rich, I wanted to rub my face all over it.

Swishy and silky, this skirt is just lovely! The skirt includes the resizing script so you can get a good fit. There are other prints available for $275L each. If you look around, there are similar skirts to this that are shorter as well. :)

Go out to Bublee Bing [yes, her store is self named] and look around. There's even an adorable blue & white check dollarbie tank top out there! You'll love it!

Beloved Roses Make Me A Doll

If you've never been out to Aisuru Rieko's store, Beloved Custom Designs, you are missing out! She is one of the cutest little creators on the grid, and her work reflects her adorable, whimsical style. From fantasy skyboxes to unicorn sets, she makes just the most precious things.

When she mentioned that she was making a doll key, my immediate thought was "Oh no, she's going to make me into a doll," because I knew I'd never be able to resist picking it up.

Then she decided to make the cutest rose couture skirt! She'll be giving away the skirt for free for the Shopping Cart Disco Reader Appreciation Day, so don't miss out on picking it up.

Check it out!

The Hime Gyaru Key is a must have for any doll on the grid! With a beautiful sculpted rose, you have several options for this key to change the colors to match your outfits. You can change the colors of the metal, the rose, and the pearl. It slowly spins around as well. I want to wear it everywhere I go!

The rose skirt is also made up of the gorgeous sculpted roses, and is also color change. I'm wearing it in pink, but I believe there are over a dozen color options to choose from. Hey Aisu, how about some hair flowers from these pretty roses??

The skirt, as I said, will be free on SCD Reader Appreciation Day, and the Hime Gyaru Key is a steal at $250L.

While you're at BCD, be sure to check out all of Aisuru's landscaping items, such as the wonderful trees and her pretty glowy grass. You'll just LOVE her work!

MALT Yummies!

I have been meaning to do this for a while but with the video card disaster, it's just taken me a little more time than I would have liked!

MALT has been one of my very favorite stores in SL for a while now and with good reason. The textures are scrumptious! I am a sucker for awesome textures, and I have never been disappointed when I buy something from MALT.

Check out the new Stitched Suede jacket and skirt!

Review - MALT - Stitched Suede

See? Scrumptious! The lush texture of the suede makes me want to just rub my face all over it. I adore the details of the jacket - the big buttons, the cute belt. The best part is that the jacket comes with 3 options [and you know I love options!] for wearing it. The skirt also has the option to wear just the skirt, just the belt, or both together. Very very awesome. I'm wearing it in burgundy, but there are 8 colors available. The jackets are $425L each and the skirts are $225L each. You can also buy a 4 pack of colors in both the skirts and jackets, the skirt 4pack being $720L and the jacket 4pack being $1360L. You're going to want all of them, trust me. They're yummy. :)

I'm also wearing a pair of the MALT Loose Fit Denim Jeans, which are probably my favorite jeans in SL! They sit just right and give me a great little butt. You know I love jeans that give me a great butt!

While I was at MALT I couldn't help picking up this great tunic!

Review - MALT - Allison Tunic

The Alison Tunic is just that perfect outfit for when you want to look very decent, but still show off some skin. It comes with 2 different skirts, the more flared one and the slimmer "long shirt" skirt, which you can wear with pants. I think that may be one of my favorite things about MALT. It's so easy to mix and match pieces and wear them different ways. I'm wearing the Alison Tunic in Blue Skies, but there are 6 colors available. Each one is $400L, or you can get the fatpack for $1920L.

Get going over to MALT today! You absolutely will not regret it!
