I Get Too Hungry For Dinner At Eight

My dear forever sister, Rylan Carling, decided to hang up her hat as far as SL fashion blogging goes today. I'm sad, because Rylan has definitely been one of my fashion inspirations for many years now, but I also know that she has so many amazing things that are going to be happening in her offline life. So as much as I want to be selfish and tell her to keep doing it, I am happy for her for so many other reasons. While I was doing my photo tonight, I thought about her. The lighting in the picture reminded me of one she did for my husband and me last year, so Ry, this post is dedicated to you! ILY!!!

Style - I Get Too Hungry For Dinner At Eight

Alice Project has been doing the Advent gift giving over on Mint Tulip this month and it's been great! Plus, if you miss any of the gifts, Alice has helpfully put them on the wall for the low low price of $50L each. I combined the Bonnie bangs from today's gift with the Clarissa hair from a previous gift. Since the bangs are not rigged, it was no problem moving them around to fit the hair. I have kind of a fivehead, so I almost always need bangs!

Coldlogic put out the cutest party dresses last week! I'm wearing Merry in Emerald since it IS the Pantone color of 2013! I just love this dress. It's a simple, classy party dress and, as you all KNOW I love, you can dress it up and down in many ways.

Collabor88 is still going strong, and you'll want to stop by to get Maxi Gossamer's Patience heart watch necklace, Marukin's Dolce & Frais poses, and the Snowy City Loft by Barnesworth Anubis.

Happy Shopping!

Christmas Cutie

If you haven't heard, an awesome fundraiser is going to be held for Second Lifer Sway Dench. You all might know Sway from the cuteness she creates - like cookie bears! You can read up on why the event is being held over here on the Together For Sway blog. Updated: Here is the SLurl for the event! Over 50 of SL's best designers are taking part in this awesome event, including Funky Junk!

Style - Christmas Cutie - Front

The Noelle house is just about as cute and Christmassy as they come! It's a small home with a large living area, a smaller downstairs room, and a spacious upstairs loft area. There is also a great back sun room!

Style - Christmas Cutie - Back

Together For Sway starts on December 15th and I'll update this post with the SLurl when the event starts. Be sure to shop, get some awesome stuff, and help out one of our own! See you there!

So Really I Better Scurry

Hello readers! Did you miss me? I know, probably were too busy shopping to notice I was gone, right? I don't blame you a bit! Sooo much goodness has come out in the past week!

Style - So really I better scurry

Collabor88 is unbelievable this month! I'm so happy with the Chaud dresses from Ingenue, I hardly know what to do. I've said it time and time again, but I adore simple pieces that you can dress up or down in so many ways, and this fits the bill! I dressed this one up with the Baboushka fur collar and fur hat from Maxi Gossamer at C88. I love all the fluff! And Fashionably Dead has some awesome Knee High mesh socks [the tops are mesh, not the actual sock part] that I couldn't resist wearing. My thighs might get cold, but who cares when I look this cute, am I right?

Also at C88, Trompe Loeil has the cutest little mesh winter cottage called Frostbite! Because it sits on its own snowpile and has trees, you really could just put it anywhere! The inside is basically just one room and has a fireplace. Cozy!

You have more shopping to do, and so do I!

Here In My Deep Purple Dreams

Collabor88 is open! If you like fun, colorful, kitschy things - this is definitely the month for you!

Style - Here In My Deep Purple Dreams

Trompe Loeil did this awesome Dreamy Genie bottle and oh my God, is it cool! You can fit a bunch of your friends in it, and it comes in different colors and in both adult and PG versions.

My lovely lilac Cindy shoes are from Ingenue and I can't call them anything other than adorable! I love a great wedge, and with the sweet little bows on the tops, they'll be making a lot of appearances on my feet!

D!va brings us the Norma hair, a messy curly short style that makes me want to just put my fingers in my hair and play with the curls all day. The hair comes with 2 different bangs.

In non-C88 news, last night I had a nice little conversation with PXL skins designer Hart Larsson. What a sweet guy! I'll admit that I'm not really very familiar with his skins [I tend to find a skin I like and stick with it for ages] but he introduced me to his Kate skin. I just love it! It has a very cute face and lots of makeup options. Total love!

Oh My NOLA

I've been to Louisiana several times, but I've never made it as far as New Orleans. Luckily Barnesworth Anubis brought a little piece of New Orleans to us for Collabor88 with his New Orleans Studio skybox!

Style - Oh my NOLA

I'm still rolling around in fantastic new releases from Coldlogic. The Keach sweater dress is just so awesome. It looks like something I'd wear all winter long because I'm usually freezing to death.

Pink Fuel finally released the Kumi skin last night! I had to rush right over to grab a demo and then go right back to buy it! I'm in love with it, so expect to see me in it a LOT.

Gotta go do more shopping!

Paperwork Builds

William Weaver has been a Flickr contact of mine for a while. I'll admit, I'm probably the worst Flickr contact ever because I kinda suck at commenting, but I do try to keep up as best I can. He's kind enough to favorite some of my pictures on occasion, and I always try to keep up with those who are nice enough to like what I do.

Last night I was doing my last "web round" before bed and noticed on Flickr that he had a link to his marketplace store - Paperwork. AND he had some really cool photo skyboxes! Not only are they cool, but they're FREE. I got them all and today got to play with them.

These shots are totally raw except for cropping, rounding the corners [don't sue me, Apple], and adding my signature. The lighting is all done within SL with the help of the builds.

Style - Paperwork Builds-3

Style - Paperwork Builds-2

Style - Paperwork Builds-1

My computer is not the best or anything, but as you can see, the skyboxes make it really easy to take some great shots! And it's really funny because the builds themselves, just in the regular light, don't look like much of anything really. But if you download the Windlight setting William has offered on the marketplace pages, all you have to do is use that setting, turn on shadows and local lights, and boom! Instapretty! On that last shot, I used the mirror water, put the build just under the water, and used one of the Windlight settings provided in Firestorm. I think it turned out nicely!

Check out Paperwork and get your free cool builds today!

Living At The Vintage Fair

I've always loved vintage homes. When I was younger, my older sister used to decorate with all this stuff she'd find at thrift shops and she'd create amazing things with what others would consider "old junk." I've never had the luck she's had in finding the best old things, but luckily in SL, I can have my vintage style without having to sift through peoples' used china.

At the Vintage Fair, Funky Junk has brought us the Salinas house. It is too adorable! Of course, I always say that about Funky Junk houses, but I always mean it! There are two bedrooms and a sunken living room, along with the bathroom, dining room, and generously sized kitchen. You can choose to get it without a garage as well.

Style - Living At The Vintage Fair - Funky Junk Salinas House

I learned how to type on a typewriter. Setting it between pica and elite, hearing the satisfying CLACK CLACK CLACK of the keys, it's definitely a whole different ballgame than typing on a computer. What Next's Nouvelle Study has the cutest little typewriter on it! Oh, and a rotary phone! There are plenty of cute animations in the set, too.

Style - Living At The Vintage Fair - WN Nouvelle Study

And finally for today, you should check out the RemiRetro furniture set from Bella Rose. There's all kinds of cute pieces in it, and the colors remind me of something you might find in the Brady Bunch house! I think my favorite item in the whole set might just be that clock! Or the radio! Or... well, it's all so cute, I just can't pick one favorite!

Style - Living At The Vintage Fair - Bellarose RemiRetro

Go on, now. Go to the Vintage Fair and find some home stuff!

Chillin' With Books

I don't always wear mesh clothing. I do probably 95% of the time these days, but sometimes, you just can't beat some nice texture layer clothing, like the cute Denim Vests from BOOM for Stumblebum, and these lovely LaceBack tank tops from The Sea Hole.

Style - Chillin' With Books

Barnesworth Anubis came out with a really gorgeous skybox for this month's Collabor88. The Stockholm skybox comes in both a furnished and unfurnished version. I just adore the bookshelves!!

If you use the unfurnished version, the new Laura living room mesh set from MudHoney is just the perfect set for the skybox!

Style - Mudhoney Laura Living Room

There are many cute pieces in the set, so you're sure to love putting pieces of it in your own home.

And the livin' is easy

Another Collabor88 post! This month's round is so amazing, I almost can't stand it.

Style - And the livin' is easy

Kyoot brings us the very pretty Whitehaven Beach Dress, which is partial mesh. For those of you who claim that mesh doesn't fit you, these types of dresses are a great option because the mesh "flap" works so much better than the typical prim flap. I love the lace texture work on the front, and the Garbo Graduated combo necklace from Maxi Gossamer pairs up with this nicely.

Trompe Loeil always does such great mesh skyboxes and the Sunbleached skybox is no exception. It's very well made and simply gorgeous! Plus it will only run you about 60 prims, so if you're looking for a summer home or just a place to get away, this is a great choice.

Collabor88 is open now, so head on over!

Mad Glam

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm one of probably 4 people in the world who doesn't watch Mad Men. So when Trompe Loeil released the NYC66 apartment for Collabor88 and people told me it was a recreation of Don Draper's home, I could have been told it's Tony Danza's apartment and not known the difference. But what I DO know is that it's awesome!

Style - Mad Glam

All mesh, mostly furnished, and only 260 land impact! Amazing! It's also more of a masculine home, so you men out there are sure to love it.

Glam Affair released a couple of great things for Collabor88 this month! The Zoe dress is a lovely little mesh number. You could easily pair this with boots or heels, or wear it over leggings or even jeans. So versatile!

The Mia skin is quite pretty, although not my normal style. I really love the bright eye makeup to match this month's Collabor88 theme. Here's a close up shot.

Meet Me In The Garden

I can't say I've ever been much of an outdoorsy type of girl. But I do appreciate the outdoors if it's nice and clean. The Songo Courtyard Garden by Barnesworth Anubis for this month's Collabor88 fits the bill just perfectly!

Style - Meet Me In The Garden

175 prims of lovely, this skybox is just gorgeous for if you choose to not live in a regular house, or if you just need somewhere for pictures. It comes with a few furniture pieces to match. Love!

Also on my "Omg I love it!" list this week, the new Gish dress from coldLogic! As soon as I put the demo on, I KNEW I had to have it! The belt is separate so you can use it in other outfits. I thought the new Kirby hair from Truth was totally perfect for the style of this dress. Both the dress and the hair are mesh, so if you're STILL holding out on buying mesh... I don't even know what to tell you. :-p

I think it's time to relax a bit in the garden.

So Livable!

It's almost time for Culture Shock!!! Funky Junk is participating with the very awesome Vista house!

Style - So Livable

Style - So Livable, Back

Style - So Livable, Interior

Just one shot of the inside, because I haven't gotten all the other rooms totally decorated. :)

The Vista home is 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom, and has a generous sized living room and dining area, plus a kitchen and a great back patio. There are also two gardens that just give the home an extra bit of pretty. What I really love about this home is that it's very livable! It's not ultra modern, or country chic, or all kinds of fancy pants. It's a nice, normal, comfortable home, and I love that! The Vista fits on a 32x23 footprint and is 290 prims with the gardens, 220 without. It's copy/mod/no transfer.

50% of the proceeds from this home goes to Culture Shock's chosen charity, Médecins Sans Frontières. Be sure to check out the THREE matching accessories for the house that are at Culture Shock and are 100% for the charity. Great stuff for a good cause? Sign me up!

Clickety Click

Hey guys! I actually have a favor to ask you all today, so let's get the pic out of the way first. :)

Style - Clickety Click

My friend Renee is trying to win a mobility vehicle. With her medical condition, being able to just get in a car and go somewhere is very hard for her. Not that I've ever heard her complain! If anything, she has probably one of the brightest outlooks on life out of anyone I've ever met in SL. So what I'm asking is that you take a minute out of your day to head to her voting page and give her a vote. You don't need a promo code [although if you have time to find one, that would be great because it gives her 5 votes the first time you vote.] It's just a clickety click on your part, but it could mean helping a sweet girl get back out there and do the things she wants to do. Let's help one of our own!

Thank you in advance! :)

Together In Paris

I just love the beginning of a new month because I know that it's almost time for a new round at Collabor88!! April's theme is "French New Wave" and, as usual, the designers are putting out some great stuff!! But let me suggest that instead of going on opening day this time, wait a couple of days because with the Easter holiday and people going to visit family and such, not everyone is going to be able to put out their items by the 8th.

Style - Together In Paris

The Sea Hole has a great new mesh dress called Parisian Glitter. It's simple, but you know that's my favorite kind of dress because you can dress it up or down in many ways. There are also matching accessories you can buy, like the bracelet, earrings, and cigarette I am holding. You can strut around in your new dress in the Paris Penthouse skybox that Barnesworth Anubis has put out! It comes with the backdrop that you can see out of the windows, or no backdrop if you prefer looking at the sky. It's really elegant!

This isn't for Collabor88, but have you SEEN the new mesh eyelids at SLink?! Where have these been all my SLife?? No more do you have to try to catch your avatar blinking or draw in your eyelids in photos! They're adjustable and you can tint the lids to match your skin or look like you're wearing eye shadow. I just tinted with a light lavender for this photo, but I sure had fun tinting them bright green and blue!

À la prochaine!

You make me wanna...

The lingerie challenge is over, but that doesn't mean I have to put my clothes back on, does it? It does? Well...how about just half way?

Style - You Make Me Wanna...

At the Festival of Sin, Elymode has these awesome Lussuria sheer tanks, skirts, and stockings! The skirts have the crotch panel, and you can choose the regular prim version or the part mesh version. The part mesh one means you can edit it slightly, mostly to pull it down in the back. At least, I always end up having to pull them down in these kinds of skirts. My butt is high or something.

GOS came out with these awesome Triumph boots for the Festival, and women were lined up outside his stall before the Festival even fully opened just to get these boots! [And to see Mr. Voom himself!] They are mesh boots but come in two pieces. You get a choice to wear the leg part up like I have it her, or rolled down to show in the inner lining. Or you could always wear just the foot part under some wide legged jeans.

Oh! Let me tell you about this skybox I took my pic in today! Trompe Loeil came out with the Ka'u Beach House skybox and it's AMAZING! It's mesh and it's like a beach house at night, with everything you'd really need right in the box, down to the waves and the moon! Seriously fantastic!

Okay, written enough! :)

Namaste

I always get excited for the events put on by Chic Management! They're always well put together with some fantastic designers. The upcoming Back To Black event is no different! Back To Black is an awareness event [not a charity event!] focusing on mental health and other disorders that impact our lives. When I saw the Leisure Outfit by Izzie's, I knew I HAD to put it on. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder over 10 years ago, and relaxation is definitely something that I work for every day!

Style - Namaste

I am seriously in love with the pants of this outfit! I want 20 pairs! And the lovely tank with the peace symbol flows just right. It's also mod, so if you need to make it bigger or smaller, it's no problem.

Also for the event is the Yoga Studio by Elefantu. This thing is AWESOME!

Style - Namaste, Yoga Studio

The picture honestly doesn't do it justice. When I got into it, I felt like I was in a real yoga studio! There are 8 mats with poses, so you and your friends can have a lovely in world yoga session to relax yourselves. It IS a little primmy, at just over 400 prims, but well worth every prim, in my opinion.

Back To Black opens to the public on February 11th. Don't miss it!

And I Look Like Donna Reed

Mmmm...more Vintage Fair goodies! I've been setting up Funky Junk's new Pasadena house that is out at the Vintage Fair for the past couple of days. It's all kinds of retro love! With Nana's TV Room Set from Hanaya, also at the Vintage Fair, it just makes you step back in time!

Style - And I Look Like Donna Reed

I was very excited to see Reale out at the Vintage Fair this year, especially with this adorable Soda dress! The skirt is a mix of sculpts and flexi, so you get nice movement, and the whole thing is really very figure flattering with the waistband and bow that hit in just the right spots.

If you haven't made it out to the Vintage Fair yet, be prepared for some lag, of course, but also be prepared to spend spend spend!! Oh! And I'll be out there tomorrow [Sunday the 13th] DJing a Sock Hop from 7pm-9pm SLT! I hope to see you guys out there for some great old music and lots of fun!

If I Could Escape

I got totally excited last weekend because I thought it was time for Spruce Up Your Space. I was wrong, though, because it's THIS WEEKEND!! The theme for SUYS this month is Coastal Cozy and that's totally a theme I can get down with! Plus, my favorite prefab store, Funky Junk, is in it! Check out the gorgeous house, aptly named My Seaside Escape.

Style - If I Could Escape

Isn't it wonderful?? My pictures honestly don't do it justice! The house has a spacious entry way, large living room area, an extra room that I turned into a kitchen, but could be used as a bedroom or study, and a bedroom upstairs. To get to that one, you have to go outside on the little patio and take the steps up! It also comes with beach grass in the window boxes and some nautical accessories. The pictures I took of the rooms are probably better viewed over on my Flickr where you can see them bigger. I also didn't get a picture of the entry way because I suck.

Style - If I Could Escape, living room

Style - If I Could Escape, kitchen & dining

Style - If I Could Escape, bedroom

My Seaside Escape will be on sale at Funky Junk this weekend for the low low price of $150L. At that price, how could you not buy it??? The house and accessories together come in at 177 prims, and without the accessories, it's 137 prims.

Let's get away

I don't know about you guys, but I would love to just get away for a weekend! But since I can't, SL is the next best thing. Especially with all the newness this weekend!!

Style - Let's Get Away

For Lazy Sunday today, you can stop over at Ingenue and pick up this really cute Little Angel t-shirt. It even has little wings drawn on the back. So precious! There are other designs and colors as well, so run over quickly! And of course a weekend isn't complete without something new from Truth. The new Bree hair is gorgeous! A side swept long long ponytail, Truth is awesome and did both regular and split attachments. Of course, you might not need the split attachments if you use the new Hairy Situations long hair poses from Long Awkward Pose! More long hair poses, please!!

Oh, do you like the house I'm standing in front of? You want to see more?

Style - Let's Get Away, My Getaway

For the Knitting Circle Bake Sale this weekend, you can get the My Getaway house from Funky Junk. It's SO freaking cute! It's tiny, just the perfect size for a cozy beach getaway. I'm showing the stilted version, which comes in at a small 83 prims. If you're not one for stilts, the included non-stilted version is just 68 prims. It has a 7x13 footprint, so even a 512 parcel of land can carry it off. Buy it!

I have to go hem pants. Jealous?
