But Why Did She Ask?

Happy Halloween, dear ones! So did you ever wonder while watching The Wizard Of Oz why Glinda asked Dorothy if she was a good witch or a bad witch like, a minute after saying only bad witches are ugly? Glinda, the queen of shade.

If you haven't done it yet, you need to get your Terror-iffic hunting on! It ends tonight!

Style - But Why Did She Ask - Full

Style - But Why Did She Ask - Closeup

Tea.S is in the hunt and you can find the Wicked Mat! How cute, right?? I chose the one that says "Go Away" but there is a "Welcome" one, too.

Miseria is also in the Terror-iffic hunt and you can find the Demona stilettos. These are so cute! They have little horns on the tops and heel is like a devil's tail!

Remember that Terror-iffic is a pay hunt, so all the prizes are $5L each. But it is WELL worth it for what you get! Just get it done soon!

By the way, if you're in SL tonight and want to go trick or treating with your family [or just on your own because you like candy!], there is a grid-wide Trick or Treat event happening! Many families, including my own, have set candy out for you to take! Some places REALLY went all out with pumpkin patches and haunted houses and all kinds of stuff! Check it out if you're interested!

Be safe out there tonight, tricksters!

Just A Walk In The Park

The Home and Garden Expo is OPEN!! This is one of my favorite events of the year and I was thrilled to be invited back as a blogger for the third year in a row. The H&G Expo raises money for Relay For Life of Second Life, which donates money to the American Cancer Society.

Funky Junk is part of the Expo this year and I'm loving the Small Garden Park!

Style - Just A Walk In The Park

I'll admit, I'm the worst at landscaping, so it's awesome for me when people put together things that I can just throw out and it's instapretty. There are four sections of this, 3 with trees and one with the little pond that has fish. [There is another version that does not have the pond.] I put this in the middle of a bunch of trees, but since it's all contained in the brick walls, you can really put it anywhere you want. The Small Garden Park with the pond is 39 land impact [the one without the pond is 30] and currently available at the H&G Expo.

The Home and Garden Expo runs until September 28th.

Getaway

The <3 Ulaa fundraiser opened with a bang! The community has really banded together to help her, and I think that's really what makes SL amazing. Of course, she had to make something for this event, too!

Style - Getaway

The Shabby Sea Shack is so classically Funky Junk. It's a simple, one room, beach cottage. Inside, there is a decorative fireplace with candles, and some other pieces of beach decor. The cottage itself is just 14 LI, but with the decor it comes to 38 LI. So if you're budgeting prims, take some stuff out and it's perfect!

The <3 Ulaa event runs until August 18th, so hop on over to shop! There are some awesome things there!

The Home & Garden Expo is still going strong! You have a few days yet to head out there and see some of the fantastic work people have done and do some shopping for a good cause. Then when you're finished shopping, head home, pour a glass of iced tea, and watch the sunset. Perfect day!

Mix Em Up

So I love events. I really do. But the problem with events is that sometimes I just get totally caught up in blogging the newest releases from certain events. At home, I tend to wear a lot of older items, so figured tonight I'd go ahead and blog one of those looks. I think you can still buy all these items, but if you're a big shopper like I am, you might find you already have them lurking in your inventory. :)

I'll make the sacrifice.

My husband and I have been married for almost a year, and in that time, he's totally spoiled me. But, I guess those days are over because when I asked him what we were having for dinner, he sheepishly said, "We better just have ramen." Ramen??

Style - I'll make the sacrifice - 1

Well, turns out? He discovered FATEwear tonight.

Of course, looking at him in his new Willard suit... Mmm. Yeah. I'll make the sacrifice and eat the ramen.

Autumn Time

I just love autumn as a season. Football games, marching band contests, lots of pretty falling leaves and pumpkins, and of course pulling out the jeans and sweaters! Of course, in my neck of the woods, we're usually still wearing shorts until Thanksgiving, but in SL, it's definitely time to start pulling out the cooler weather clothes!

Style - Autumn Time

Coldlogic just released a whole bunch of new items, and I fell in deep love with the Shereda top! A lovely cropped sweater over a pretty cowl necked shirt? Oh, yes PLEASE! I never want to take it off!

At FaMESHed this month, Auxiliary released their new Skinny jeans. I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of skinny jeans, but these are just fabulous! They're low rise and make your booty just look amazing. And while you're picking these up at FaMESHed, be sure to grab the Noriko hair from Wasabi Pills. I'm not a short hair kind of girl normally, but this hair is so adorable, I can't seem to take it off!

I guess it's time to stop looking pretty and start doing some autumn landscaping. Hey, while I have you here - Where are the best places to get autumn trees and other outdoor decor? Leave a comment or IM me! :)

Living At The Vintage Fair

I've always loved vintage homes. When I was younger, my older sister used to decorate with all this stuff she'd find at thrift shops and she'd create amazing things with what others would consider "old junk." I've never had the luck she's had in finding the best old things, but luckily in SL, I can have my vintage style without having to sift through peoples' used china.

At the Vintage Fair, Funky Junk has brought us the Salinas house. It is too adorable! Of course, I always say that about Funky Junk houses, but I always mean it! There are two bedrooms and a sunken living room, along with the bathroom, dining room, and generously sized kitchen. You can choose to get it without a garage as well.

Style - Living At The Vintage Fair - Funky Junk Salinas House

I learned how to type on a typewriter. Setting it between pica and elite, hearing the satisfying CLACK CLACK CLACK of the keys, it's definitely a whole different ballgame than typing on a computer. What Next's Nouvelle Study has the cutest little typewriter on it! Oh, and a rotary phone! There are plenty of cute animations in the set, too.

Style - Living At The Vintage Fair - WN Nouvelle Study

And finally for today, you should check out the RemiRetro furniture set from Bella Rose. There's all kinds of cute pieces in it, and the colors remind me of something you might find in the Brady Bunch house! I think my favorite item in the whole set might just be that clock! Or the radio! Or... well, it's all so cute, I just can't pick one favorite!

Go on, now. Go to the Vintage Fair and find some home stuff!

Heading Back

We're heading back in time, you guys! Vintage Fair 2012 is almost upon us! I'm sooo excited because this is truly one of my favorite events of the year!

Style - Heading Back

Vintage Fair starts on August 4th, and guess what? There's a Flickr contest this year! You can read all about it on the CHIC Management website, but can I just say that the prizes are outstanding? I mean, the first place winner is going to walk away with over $17,000L in just Lindens alone - PLUS thousands of $Lindens worth of gift cards and prizes! Go to the webpage to check out all the rules and see all the goodies.

I'll have more Vintage Fair posts for you soon, and the SLurl when it opens!

Hey baby, what's your sign?

Zodiac is coming! Brought to you by The Hottie Cooterati Experience, Zodiac is a monthly themed event [and that means discounts for you!] and starts with a roar with my favorite sign [because it's my sign!] - LEO!

Style - Hey baby, what's your sign?

Elymode made the Leoness mesh skirt for the event and it's really cute! Now I am usually a medium in standard sizing, but I found the medium too big in this skirt, so I'm wearing a small. If you're a little more on the curvy side, try this skirt on. I think you'll find that it's a more generous in the hips than some that are out there.

Glitterati has the Wild pack of poses for Zodiac, and I really like them. But I'm a bit of a pose whore [about 10,000 poses currently take up space in my inventory - possibly more] so I'm ALWAYS happy to add more to the bunch!

Zodiac opens tomorrow, July 23rd [the start of the Leo cycle!] and runs until August 17th. I'll have the SLurl later when I'm allowed to give it out!

Summer BBQ

Lots of goodies this week!

Style - Summer BBQ

This is the last round of Stumblebum! I know, I'm sad, too! But Stumblebum will be back with a whole new format and it's going to be great! But during this round, stop by DCNY and pick up the Keyhole tops! They are lovely mesh, and the flower is detachable.

Funky Junk is at The Mens Dept this month. The Grill Master BBQ set and the Om Nom Picnic Table are both really awesome! If you sit at the table, there are plates of food you can rez and eat! I love interactive things, so I'm totally happy with it all!

SLink released the Aussie thongs last night and I am soooo happy! I've been looking for new flip flops, but didn't want to have to go through tinting feet again. Since these work with the SLink Natural bare feet, I don't have to tint a thing. They come with both mens & womens sizes, and unrigged modifiable so that you can adjust as necessary.

Oh, and in case you had noooo idea, Hair Fair has started! Wasabi Pills came out with the Ichigo hair and I simply adore it.

Summer Stripes

It's a new month and a new cycle of FaMESHed! If you're a big mesh lover like I am, it's definitely worth checking out!

Style - Summer Stripes

JANE is in this cycle of FaMESHed with the cute Mellie dress! It's a simply pretty tube dress in some great colors! I chose the Spectrum color because I thought it was the summeryest! [Okay, that's not a word. But you catch my drift.]

You have until July 27th to check out all the goodies at FaMESHed, so head on over soon!

You Don't Need A Mirror To Know You Look Good

If you haven't been to FaMESHed this month, you need to goooo!

Style - You Don't Need A Mirror To Know You Look Good

JANE has some cute dresses at FaMESHed for June, like this Mary Ellen dress! It's simple and classic. And yes, this is my 2nd JANE post this week. Y que? :-p

The Fairy Tales event opens on Friday, and from what I can tell, it's going to be a lot of fun shopping! I'm wearing the Princess hair from Wasabi Pills for the event and even though I'm not really a short hair kind of girl, I love it! It reminds me of how my hair was cut back when I was around 21. Cute!

Come On Over

When I saw the new Shasta dresses from JANE, I immediately thought of a pretty housewife, maybe back in the 50s or so. I absolutely love vintage inspired clothing, so this is definitely a dress for me!

Style - Come On Over

Okay, so maybe it's a little shorter and more low cut than an old school housewife would wear, but that's what makes it fresh! It is mesh, of course, and comes in standard sizes. By the way, all of the older JANE mesh clothing [before standard sizing!] is on clearance! But hurry in, you only have a couple of weeks before it's retired forever.

Don't you love when house makers make decor sets to match houses? Funky Junk recently released the super pretty Beatrice house, and the new Beatrice kitchen was made to match! It's not just pretty, it's interactive! You can cook, wash dishes, sit around. It's fun! For those of you who like a little more realism in your SL, this is the kitchen for you. Come on over, I'll make you some soup!

Oh so CHIC!

It's almost time for the CHIC² birthday event to open!! It opens today at 4pm SLT. I'll come back and update this post with the SLurl when it does! It's open now!!!!!

Style - Oh So CHIC!

There is a lot of CUTE CUTE stuff out there, as you would expect from a CHIC Management event, so it's definitely not to be missed! The event has 150 of CHIC's best loved stores and each brand will have one new and exclusive (for the duration of the event) item with the theme of CHIC. Also, be sure you're good with your camera. The event area is smallish, but the store pods are stacked in levels. You could fly to each one, but I was able to see everything by just standing in one spot and camming around. And yes, it WILL BE LAGGY ON OPENING DAY. Go in a simple outfit and take off your scripted items. Believe me, no one cares what you look like or how you're walking. They just want to shop!

The CHIC² birthday event starts at 4pm SLT today and runs until June 24th.

Summer Joy

I think everyone knows that I am TOTALLY a summer girl. Nothing makes me happier than to see those temperatures rising and wake up to sunshine every morning. Luckily for me, creators are coming out with awesome new stuff to keep this summer girl happy in SL!

Style - Summer Joy

Jane has new mesh goodies for us! The Sweet n Low jeans are really great because they're casual enough to wear with sandals [or no shoes at all!] but can be paired up with your favorite heels for a night out! They do have 2 length options, too, just for this reason! What I really like is that they are lower rise, BUT not so low that you need to worry about sharing the goods if you bend the wrong way. The Casey halter was just made for these jeans because it is flowy and the hem is up enough that you get a cute glimpse of belly. I know these halters will be in my summer rotation because unlike some halters I have similar to this, it doesn't cut into my pants.

Funky Junk has this awesome Summertime Dock out at the Home & Garden Expo. It comes with the lanterns, but if you want the furniture, you can buy it separately at the Expo. The dock comes with sits, and a few length options. Both the dock and the furniture are RFL items, so buy them and you'll be donating to a great cause!

And hello? Do you see my hair? How is the new Lola Summer mesh hair from Wasabi Pills just NOT the best little look for summer? Braided pigtails and a hair kerchief? Love! Total love!

Okay, off to go enjoy the sunshine!

So Livable!

It's almost time for Culture Shock!!! Funky Junk is participating with the very awesome Vista house!

Style - So Livable

Style - So Livable, Back

Style - So Livable, Interior

Just one shot of the inside, because I haven't gotten all the other rooms totally decorated. :)

The Vista home is 2 bedrooms/1 bathroom, and has a generous sized living room and dining area, plus a kitchen and a great back patio. There are also two gardens that just give the home an extra bit of pretty. What I really love about this home is that it's very livable! It's not ultra modern, or country chic, or all kinds of fancy pants. It's a nice, normal, comfortable home, and I love that! The Vista fits on a 32x23 footprint and is 290 prims with the gardens, 220 without. It's copy/mod/no transfer.

50% of the proceeds from this home goes to Culture Shock's chosen charity, Médecins Sans Frontières. Be sure to check out the THREE matching accessories for the house that are at Culture Shock and are 100% for the charity. Great stuff for a good cause? Sign me up!

Lazy Days!

It's Spruce Up Your Space time!! I swear, I just love this event! Of course, I'm a total home & garden addict. Funky Junk doesn't disappoint with the new Lazy Days Hanging Bed and Gazebo!

Style - Lazy Days Gazebo

Style - Lazy Days Hanging Bed

The gazebo is just awesome and comes in at 37 prims. It does include the bed! But you can also purchase just the hanging bed on its own if you aren't in need of a gazebo for your garden. The hanging bed is 17 prims, no copy/no modify, and has 19 couples cuddles and 7 single poses. Get it this weekend for SUYS if you want the discounted price!!

Also, be sure you've updated your landmarks to the NEW Funky Junk mainstore over on The Pea! It's super pretty out there!
