A Little Clutter Never Hurt

One of the things that makes me happy in SL is when I can have a bunch of little knick knacks out. It used to be almost impossible to make anything too terribly cluttery because of prim limits. While we still do have the limits, with mesh and awesome mesh makers who can make cute cute things for just 1 tiny land impact, we can have all the knick knacks we want.




The new Amy Bookshelves by MudHoney out at FaMESHed this month are everything my little clutter-lovin' heart desires! You can buy one color of the bookshelves, which do come apart into 3 separate ones and have texture change backs, and pick and choose from the different accessories. But you're really going to want to buy the whole accessories pack that includes 8 book sets, 2 candles, owl, trinket box, 3 frames, 4 vases, 2 plants, and a basket. Since the accessories are copy/mod, you can do as I've done and use more and mod pieces to be bigger or smaller and they're only 1 land impact each! And of course, the shelves look great with some of your own items, too, like I've added for this photo.

The True Joy Is In Giving

The holidays are fast approaching, y'all! Have you finished all your shopping yet? I haven't, but I gave myself new goodies and really, you have to give yourself something once in a while, too!




I hopped on over to Kustom9 yesterday and picked up this totally adorable sweater dress! The Nordic Knit dress from Amitomo is just so my style! It's all kinds of soft and cozy, and it also comes with a little fur collar that you can detach if you want.

The dress goes perfectly with the Fiona boots by Fri.day, also out at Kustom9. I just LOVE boots with attached socks! You can make the socks invisible, though, with the HUD, or change the color.

At The End Of The Day

Do you have stores where no matter what they release or how often they release, you get totally excited? Coldlogic and Truth are those stores for me!




Coldlogic just did a big fall release and I am so here for it! I was wearing the new Caron cropped sweater last night and my husband immediately told me how cute it was. It's a winner! I didn't think I was going to like the new Leck pants because of the tiny ankles, but once I put them on, I realized how adorable they really are. The whole release is really cute, so you need to check it out.

Truth released Shae recently and it's the hair I needed in my life. Truth does amazing braids anyway, but this big fluffy side braid is so so gorgeous, I can't get enough of it.

Let's Focus On The Boots!

Do you ever get dressed and you think, "Yay! I'm cute!" Then you take your pic and oh...maybe not so much? That's totally me today. But let's not focus on anything except these awesome boots, okay??




My friend Wilma stopped over at our place last night and immediately my eye was drawn to her feet. She was wearing the Cowboy Boots with the floral design from COCO. I cannot begin to tell you all how my little Texas girl heart just sang with excitement! So much so that even though I was in the middle of hanging out with my family, I took off and went to buy them. They come with both the sock and no sock option and there are several pretty colors. In fact, I'm headed out now to get them in aqua!

Iced Up

Oh my goodness, what a start to the month! Both The Arcade and FaMESHed opened with a huge bang today, and if you're anything like me, you are in shopping heaven!!





What Next is at The Arcade with these awesome Igloos! I'm standing in front of the Penguin igloo and isn't it cute? There are some poses in it to sit on top of the igloo or lay down inside. Cute! But the poses didn't show off my new First Snow hair and dress from Exile, also at The Arcade. The hair, hood, and dress are all one piece, and there is a HUD to change the color of the dress and one to do different shades of the hair. Mine is the Ice Blondes HUD and there are 10 lovely light blonde shades in this HUD.

Mutresse is at FaMESHed with their new Sneja boots. Like everything else from Mutresse, these are really well done and of course very very customizable with the color HUD. I went all one color but you can change lots of things to make your boots match your outfits.

Also at FaMESHed are the Fingerless Gloves from Kauna. They can be changed to either leather or wool, and there are sizes for both men and women. The hands, however, were a B to tint properly!! I am very used to having appliers now for my hands, so I'm definitely out of practice for tinting, but I could not get them to tint to match my skin at all, so I just kinda did what I could and let my windlight do the rest.

PSL 4 Ever!

My friends always laugh because I am ridiculously into pumpkin spice anything. Candles, air fresheners, cupcakes, etc. I dance around all of August waiting for pumpkin spice lattes, even though I'm not actually much of a coffee drinker any more. When I saw the new Cocoa-On-The-Go Cart from What Next, I thought, "Would I not be dancing in crazy glee if this thing was parked out in front of my house at all times??"




Isn't it adorable?? It is materials ready, so if you are using a viewer that shows materials [I am not], then it'll look just a touch different than in my photo. The cart is just a decorative prop, but if you click on it, it gives you a menu and you can choose from a a variety of drinks and a doughnut! The cups are super cute, too.




I had to get the small PSL because it fit my hand the best, but you know I usually order a large! The Cocoa-On-The-Go Cart is on sale now at the What Next mainstore and if you are a VIP member, it's 50% off until Tuesday evening.

Oh, can we talk about my hair for a second? Truth released 3 new styles yesterday and I am in fangirllove with the Anita hair. It's long, it's simple, it's exactly what I need.

The White Swan Steps Out

Last night, my lovely family threw me a birthday party! I wore a "vintage" G Field dress that some said reminded them of the White Swan. Luckily for me, Gos Boutique released the new Paris Peeptoes just in time for me to go to the party!




These shoes are just perfect for almost any look - simple or fancy or casual or sexy! My favorite thing is that the peeptoe cut-out is a heart! So sweet! I'm wearing them in satin, and they also come in shiny patent. They come in several colors, and of course with the Gos Boutique OneTime HUD, you have hundreds of your favorite skins to choose from so tinting to your skin is a super breeze!

Berry's Meme - Meet My Friend!

When Berry made her Meet My Friend meme, my first thought was to do it with my best friend. But then I thought, well that's highly expected, now isn't it? Over the past 3 years, I've shied away from making too many new friends and have stuck with the same few people. Back in January, a blogger named Kirsten Corleone added me to Plurk, but either she wasn't using it much, or I wasn't paying attention, because I didn't really notice her until last month. But let me tell you something - I'm glad I did because she has become one of my favorite people in SL, and I knew she was the one that I should do the meme with.




I'm deviating away from the meme slightly because while I did ask her questions, I've always found that you get to know a person better when you're just talking. And oh, did we talk last night! But most of what we talked about needs to stay off the record because it was just us getting to know each other more. I'm sure you all understand. ;)

What I discovered about Kirsten is that she's awesomely sweet. She's a lover of pink. She has more jewelry than you can shake a stick at and is now my new go-to person for when I need to find just the right accessory for an outfit. Although she's been in Second Life for many years, she still loves it and we both still make noob mistakes all of the time. She's deeply dedicated to her partner in a way that makes you think, "Awww!" and not "Ughhh."

The best thing that I discovered about Kirsten is that she's someone I feel really comfortable around, and as most people know, that's not something that happens a lot for me. I'm very glad Plurk allowed me to meet her, and I'm very happy that this meme allowed me to know her better.

New Kids On The Block Had A Bunch Of Hits

Summerfest '13 starts tomorrow! I think of myself as a TOTAL summer girl, so naturally I am so so excited about this fun event!




If you read my personal blog, you know how crazy I got over the Ohmai piglets for The Arcade. WELL... I'm just as crazy for the Ohmai Otters for Summerfest!! Look at these little guys! There are ones for pets and then little otter avatars you can wear! SO CUTE. They even come with a certificate of adoption. Could this get more precious? I don't think so!

Balaclava made the sweetest little Ukuleles for Summerfest! They play songs, and you can give one to a friend and have a duet! I just love things that you can use to play with others. They also made these really cool Swim Rafts for the event and I'm having so much fun diving from the raft today!

Happy Trails

This is kind of a sad post for me today! This is my last post as an official Collabor88 blogger.




I have been with Collabor88 as a blogger since the very very beginning when there were just 8 of us. It has been an AMAZING journey and I am so thrilled to have been part of it. But as a blogger, sometimes you have to ask yourself if you're really doing justice to the wonderful creators who take part in the event every month. My answer was, unfortunately, no. As much as I absolutely adore the event, I feel like it's time for me to go so someone new can take my place and have as much fun with it as I did!

I wanted to say a huge huge thank you to Drinkenstein Sorbet for starting such a fantastic event, and wish her well as she ends her SL business to go on some RL adventures. And also, a HUGE thank you to all the awesome Collabor88 creators who have allowed me to blog them every month for the past two years. You guys make SL beautiful. ♥

Of course, I'll still be blogging Collabor88 on my own because, duh, I'll always want to shop there! :)

Dressing For Jesus [With Love To December!]

We were having a discussion on plurk last night about an upcoming fair that caters more to the more trampy side of SL and my friend December said, "I need a Dressing For Jesus fair." See, not everyone in SL WANTS to have their "boobadoos" out all of the time. Once in a while, SURE!! But all of the time? Nooo. Some of us want clothes that are cute and cover our bodies. Not that there's anything wrong with having your bits and pieces all out there for the world to see constantly if that's REALLY what you want out of SLife, but for some of us, we like simple clothing that is both lovely and modest.

I dedicate this post to December, someone who proves that you can be adorable and beloved in both worlds without your "Virginia and Cleveland" on display. ♥♥♥

She Refused To Be Bored Chiefly Because She Wasn't Boring

One of my pet peeves is when someone says they're bored a lot. Really? With everything that's going on in the world, you're constantly bored? What the heck is wrong with you?? How can you be bored?? Well, there's no WAY you can be bored today because Coldlogic just released new clothes!




The Lovern dress is totally a love for me! I love how it's the perfect blend of fancy and casual. I paired it up with the new Hill mesh leggings. These leggings are very awesome in that they come with 3 different cuffs so you can wear with different shoes. I'm wearing them in cuff #3, which is about mid-calf. I did have to do some minor editing to my leg warmers from G Field to fit the leg over the legging, but truly, they were very small edits. They also come with leggings for dresses that are much slimmer on the hips. Don't get scared like I did when you try on your regular size and find that you're muffin topping like crazy!

It's the hap-happiest season of all!

Oh, look at this place! It's beautifully decorated, isn't it?




I just love when I stumble upon sims where I can take pictures. It's so helpful that people decorate so that... What? It's not a sim? OH THAT'S RIGHT. It's a collaboration piece from Pilot and Exposeur!




This wonderful winter Snow Globe makes my heart happy! I collect snow globes in SL, and actually being in one is awesome! Pilot does wonderful mesh work, and Exposeur makes some of the best poses on the grid, so now could this NOT be full of fantastic?? This globe comes in at 44 Land Impact, and has 7 couples poses, 3 group poses, 5 female poses and 5 male poses. Also, there's a little mini version [3 LI] of the globe for decoration! I already have it out on one of our shelves!

I think more people need to do collaboration projects. When two awesome creators combine forces, it's pretty much always amazing!

Living Glam At The Christmas Expo

Have you been to the RFL Christmas Expo yet? No? Well, you better hurry! It ends tomorrow!




I stumbled upon new-to-me store LIV-Glam while at the Expo yesterday, and I couldn't resist the Amy trench coat! It's a real steal at only $99L and comes with a HUD so you can change your coat into one of thirteen colors. There is also a special colored trench that is just for RFL that you can buy separately. I think it's very cute, although I wish the inside was not transparent. In certain poses, you can really tell the transparency. [Look at my left wrist to see what I mean.] But for such a cute and affordable coat, trust me, I'll let it slide!

The RFL Christmas Expo ends tomorrow, December 19th, so scoot on over and check it out!

So Really I Better Scurry

Hello readers! Did you miss me? I know, probably were too busy shopping to notice I was gone, right? I don't blame you a bit! Sooo much goodness has come out in the past week!




Collabor88 is unbelievable this month! I'm so happy with the Chaud dresses from Ingenue, I hardly know what to do. I've said it time and time again, but I adore simple pieces that you can dress up or down in so many ways, and this fits the bill! I dressed this one up with the Baboushka fur collar and fur hat from Maxi Gossamer at C88. I love all the fluff! And Fashionably Dead has some awesome Knee High mesh socks [the tops are mesh, not the actual sock part] that I couldn't resist wearing. My thighs might get cold, but who cares when I look this cute, am I right?

Also at C88, Trompe Loeil has the cutest little mesh winter cottage called Frostbite! Because it sits on its own snowpile and has trees, you really could just put it anywhere! The inside is basically just one room and has a fireplace. Cozy!
