Happy Trails

This is kind of a sad post for me today! This is my last post as an official Collabor88 blogger.




I have been with Collabor88 as a blogger since the very very beginning when there were just 8 of us. It has been an AMAZING journey and I am so thrilled to have been part of it. But as a blogger, sometimes you have to ask yourself if you're really doing justice to the wonderful creators who take part in the event every month. My answer was, unfortunately, no. As much as I absolutely adore the event, I feel like it's time for me to go so someone new can take my place and have as much fun with it as I did!

I wanted to say a huge huge thank you to Drinkenstein Sorbet for starting such a fantastic event, and wish her well as she ends her SL business to go on some RL adventures. And also, a HUGE thank you to all the awesome Collabor88 creators who have allowed me to blog them every month for the past two years. You guys make SL beautiful. ♥

Of course, I'll still be blogging Collabor88 on my own because, duh, I'll always want to shop there! :)

I Surrender Honestly

I'm feeling awfully lazy today. I really don't even want to get out of bed!




More goodies from FaMESHed! I fell in love with the adorable Bowlicious dresses from The Secret Store when I first saw the photos! I'm wearing it in cappuccino because I sure could use one right now!

Gos Boutique has a special Gold Snake color of the Grace sandals for FaMESHed this round. I'm not usually a big fan of animal prints, or snakes, but I really couldn't resist buying these gorgeous shoes.

Trompe Loeil's Gramercy bedroom suite is so perfect, I can't get over it. I'm just using the bed right now, but truly, the whole set is amazing. It's also great for men because it's not overly feminine like many bedroom sets in Second Life tend to be.

Not at FaMESHed, how cute is the Virginie hair from Truth?? I love the swoop to the side! Have I mentioned how much I love his Fades pack? I've been wearing the Seasand fade color lately and it's just fab!

You Were Only Waiting For This Moment To Arise

I love when new stuff comes out. I really do! And I love it even more when it's pretty pretty pretty!




Ava is a new skin from Belleza, and I fell in love with it at first demo! In fact, and I hardly EVER say this about a skin, but I have not seen anyone in it who doesn't look amazing. If you fatpack it, you get the whole lipstick bundle, too, although you could just buy the plain skin and then the lips and then use whatever eye makeups you like. It's quite versatile! I fatpacked, of course, because it's what I do.

Truth released new hair and Edith may be my favorite of the three new releases. It's a gorgeous long hair topped with a casual knit cap. More hats and more accessories on hairs, please!!

Cae is in Collabor88 this month and she's spoiling us with the loopy swoopy Guinevere set. Look how cool the necklace is! And the earrings, which you can't see under my hair, have not left my ears since the first of the month.

If you get lost, you can always be found.

I love when I can put a new skin on and not have to change a thing about my shape. It's VERY VERY rare that it happens because not all skins are going to look good on me. In fact, most don't unless I tweak my shape to get it to look right. Of course, I'm tweaking my shape every week anyway. I'm definitely not in the "NEVER TOUCH MY SHAPE" crowd! So I was super happy to try on Adam n Eve's new Siobhan skin last night and feel pretty instantly - with no tweaking!




It's a different look for me, since I tend to look more like jailbait [Y que?] but I love it! The lips...oh my god, these lips! Just kissably soft! Also, if you've never tried an Adam n Eve skin before, trust me when I say the body is just as wonderful as the face!

Truth put out some new hairs a few days ago, including the aptly named Winter. I love the style of this one, but what really makes it special is the scarf! I love when hairmakers put scarves or hats or other accessories on the hairs because you all know how hard it is to have to mod stuff and try to get it to fit right! Now, if Mr. Hawks will release this hair without the scarf...

I Get Too Hungry For Dinner At Eight

My dear forever sister, Rylan Carling, decided to hang up her hat as far as SL fashion blogging goes today. I'm sad, because Rylan has definitely been one of my fashion inspirations for many years now, but I also know that she has so many amazing things that are going to be happening in her offline life. So as much as I want to be selfish and tell her to keep doing it, I am happy for her for so many other reasons. While I was doing my photo tonight, I thought about her. The lighting in the picture reminded me of one she did for my husband and me last year, so Ry, this post is dedicated to you! ILY!!!




Alice Project has been doing the Advent gift giving over on Mint Tulip this month and it's been great! Plus, if you miss any of the gifts, Alice has helpfully put them on the wall for the low low price of $50L each. I combined the Bonnie bangs from today's gift with the Clarissa hair from a previous gift. Since the bangs are not rigged, it was no problem moving them around to fit the hair. I have kind of a fivehead, so I almost always need bangs!

Coldlogic put out the cutest party dresses last week! I'm wearing Merry in Emerald since it IS the Pantone color of 2013! I just love this dress. It's a simple, classy party dress and, as you all KNOW I love, you can dress it up and down in many ways.

I Hope To Be There By The Morning

Quiet day for me today. I'm really just waiting for the morning.




Couple of events to tell you about: The Unhinged event kicked off today and there are a lot of great designers involved. This event is a charity fundraiser for Second Lifer Eku Zhong. I don't know Eku myself, but when so many people are willing to help you out, you've got to be a pretty special person. You can read all about the event on this page.

FAIR starts on November 17th, and as usual, it's going to be fantastic! Lots of great items and I'll definitely been showing you guys more from the event after it opens.

I've never been a morning person. Anything I do in the morning usually has to be double checked. That obviously includes photos. But that's okay - just look at me. Don't look behind the fountain!




Truth released some new hair yesterday, and I got really excited about the Cyanne hair! I just love hair accessories - scarves, barrettes, etc. This is a long style with the hair down the back. Love!

Have you seen the Eternal eyes at IKON? So very very pretty! I'm wearing the Marine color and truly, you need to see them in person. Pictures do not do these eyes justice!

Barnesworth Anubis put out this amazing Marrakesh Oasis skybox for Collabor88 this month and just being in it makes me think of hot weather, which of course I love! I'm sure you'll be seeing more of this lovely skybox in future posts because it makes an amazing background for pictures.

Happy November!

Happy November, dear readers! I hope you all had a safe and fun filled Halloween. I don't eat a lot of candy any more, so getting new Coldlogic dresses was a better treat for me!




The new Palmer sweater dress is just wonderful! I think I like that I could easily pair this with jeans or put a turtleneck underneath. You all know how I do love options with my clothes!

Truth released some great hair a few days ago, and I'm totally in love with the Josie hair. This reminds me of how my hair normally is here at home - scooped back into a messy bun, usually some some random braids here and there. If you wear any of the fades pack colors, there is the option to have a colored braid or a plain braid. I'm just wearing the plain one in this photo.

Did you hear the news? Auxiliary finally opened!! If you're in the group, you can pick up a box of gifts that includes this awesome Oversized Leather Tote. I simply adore huge purses because I carry a ton of stuff with me always, so you know I love this!

Whoever thinks of going to bed before twelve o'clock is a scoundrel.

I'm a night owl. I always have been, and I think always will be. The funny part is that I'm kind of night blind and I don't go out at night a lot. I save my early evening wanderings for SL.




Stellar has come out with some great new items! The Corduroy mini skirts are just fantastic! I have been waiting for new mesh mini skirts and these fit the bill! There are matching Turtlenecks as well! The turtlenecks are a mix of texture and mesh pieces, so you don't need to worry about sizes. If you're in the Stellar VIP group, there is a free Halloween corduroy skirt waiting for you at the store!

Truth released new hair this weekend, and how amazing is the Dawson ponytail?? I'm still all kinds of excited about his new color fades, so I'm wearing this in Barbie, a mix of blonde and pink. Cute!

FAIR just opened this weekend, and the Joy skin from Lara Hurley is a total win! I've never actually worn one of her skins before [that I can remember], so this was a real joy to try on. I'm a fan now!

As much as I love the night, the morning has me working hard, so I'm off to bed.

Loving a music man ain't always what it's supposed to be.

Last night I found myself alone because my dear husband was off being a music man in the non-SL world. [He's a DJ, he's not trying to be a rock star.] So I figured I'd put on something sexy while I waited for him to come home.




Cracked Mirror is in Cinema and has the cutest things for it! The Starlet Corset and matching Ruffle Knickers appeal to everything girly in me! They're mesh and I'm getting an increasing love for mesh lingerie!

Also at Cinema, MudHoney has the Priya bed! Lots of animations in this one! I'm not sure if I put the curtains on the right way, but that's what happens when I'm left alone.

Truth just released new hair and I am loving the Jemima hair, AND his new color fades pack! I'm so all about different colored hair lately!

And did you hear? SLink released new mesh hands for the women! I absolutely had to fatpack these babies because ... well, look! They come in different poses and you can add your rings to them. The wrists are standard sizes, but the hands resize to YOUR hand size. So if you have tiny baby hands or huge massive hands, the hands are pretty much just your size.

Collabor88 starts tomorrow, and check out the Davenport mesh tops from The Sea Hole! The theme for this month's event is Pink Flamingos. "Pink Flamingos" - A colorcentric Theme summed up in the non mainstream cinematic expoits of John waters, Plastic kitschyness and General Deviance. It's going to be FUN!

Mr. Truth put out new hair last night, and I am totally in love with the new Mayim updo! Have you checked out Truth's new color fades pack? I'm very into the whole idea of dip dyed hair or colorful pieces [having made part of my RL hair pink recently!] so the new colors make me very happy!

And last but not least, the new Equestrian boots at Gos are just so...well, no words! I just can't stop looking at my feet! Long and lean boots with a lovely stiletto heel? I can't think of anything better for my feet this season! As most of you know, Gospel's dear kitty was recently in an accident and after receiving so much support, the very classy Mr. Voom has decided to raise money for the PDSA - The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals - by creating a special edition of each new release. You can read all about it on his blog. :)

Oh, I think they do make passes.

I love wearing glasses. In my physical world, I wear contacts almost every day because they're easy, but in SL, I just adore wearing all kinds of glasses. And I think I actually squealed a little when I put on the new Softpaw glasses from Krystal today. They're just too cute!




The glasses are just so sweet and delicate with the tiny little color-change gems and scroll work! I love when people put such fine detailing into things, and these definitely don't disappoint. Even the ear pieces are detailed! Love love love.

FaMESHed started today, and look at how adorable the new Izumi pigtails from Wasabi Pills are! I'm totally in love with this hair, even if it does make me look a little young. The hair is only partially rigged mesh. The bangs are not rigged, so you can edit and move them around if you need to. I didn't need to, it fit perfectly out of the box!

Although you can't see my entire pose, it comes from Status, and Status is 2 years old today! Happy store birthday, Gidge!! :)

Autumn Time

I just love autumn as a season. Football games, marching band contests, lots of pretty falling leaves and pumpkins, and of course pulling out the jeans and sweaters! Of course, in my neck of the woods, we're usually still wearing shorts until Thanksgiving, but in SL, it's definitely time to start pulling out the cooler weather clothes!




Coldlogic just released a whole bunch of new items, and I fell in deep love with the Shereda top! A lovely cropped sweater over a pretty cowl necked shirt? Oh, yes PLEASE! I never want to take it off!

At FaMESHed this month, Auxiliary released their new Skinny jeans. I'll admit, I'm not a huge fan of skinny jeans, but these are just fabulous! They're low rise and make your booty just look amazing. And while you're picking these up at FaMESHed, be sure to grab the Noriko hair from Wasabi Pills. I'm not a short hair kind of girl normally, but this hair is so adorable, I can't seem to take it off!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Truth!

In the spring of 2009, I had the opportunity to meet Truth Hawks at a party. I didn't know much about him aside from the fact that he made clothes and shoes and hair. Somehow over the years, we managed to become friends. He's been incredibly kind to me, even when he had every right to tell me to get bent. :-p

Today is his RL birthday! Although we don't chat as much as we used to, I absolutely could not let the day go by without wishing him a happy birthday AND wearing what is probably my most favorite Truth hair ever! His adorable partner, Kaelyn, has been a machine the past couple of weeks taking tons of pictures and collecting birthday messages for him. You can see them all in this Flickr set!

Happy birthday, Stinky! I'd make you a cake but I'd probably end up putting meat in it. :-p

There's No Dye In The Woods!

I really love different colored hair, but I don't wear it very often. Why? Well, I'm outside a lot, and I'd hate to get lost in the woods and not be able to touch up my hair!




Truth released the new Izzie hair yesterday, and I simply HAD to wear it in pink so I could use the pretty aqua streaks! The streaks are color changeable by a HUD and you can even remove the streaks if you only want your bangs to be one color. There is also a removable color change bow that comes with the hair. I'm not wearing it in the picture because I guess I lost it in the forest or something.

It's really hard to be pretty and outdoorsy sometimes.

There's No Gravity To Hold Me Down

I wasn't going to blog the new Xarra tunic by Maitreya. It's super cute and I do love it, but I figured it would be blogged a whole lot by much better bloggers than me. :) I was right, of course! [And let's face it, I'm also super lazy and figured it was a good excuse to not blog.] But I cannot resist blogging an outfit if I actually think I look pretty because I struggle at styling myself!




Truth released new hair today, and I just fell in love with the Bria hair! Long and pinned to the side? Yes, please! Not gonna lie, I'm probably going to try to replicate this style on my real hair and then be sad that it doesn't look as good.

I hopped over to The Dressing Room today [I THINK it's the last day for the current cycle, but don't quote me on that] and picked up these cute Brera pumps by YS&YS. I'm wearing the version with socks, but there is a prim foot-no sock version as well. And I couldn't resist snatching up Glam Affair's Cassiopea Retro skin while I was at TDR! It's just so pretty!

When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip!

I used to dye my hair a lot when I was younger. I've had hair that was platinum blonde and jet black and cherry red and many other colors. I haven't done more than touching up my dark roots or getting highlights in the past few years, but I'm a HUGE fan of the dip dye hair! I'd do it myself if I didn't think someone would look at me funny. When I saw the Secretive hair by Magika, I loved the style. But more than that - I loved the dipped color!




The dipped colors come with Color Pack #3, so remember that if you're interested in just dipped colors. I really adore how Magika does the HUDs for the hair because it's like getting a small fatpack for a low price.
